East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Dorian AragonaHis Royal Majesty

It was perhaps not surprising in any sense that Dareios had been drawn to that aged home. Vampires, Dorian had noted, often seemed to seek solace amongest those things as aged as themselves. The Monarch himself perhaps not terribly different even though his curiosity of the modern world often prompted him to seek those new discoveries in turn. Sebastian in his ever-lasting patience so constantly allowing himself to be led from one thing to the next that the vampire had long since discovered for himself and yet hardly seemed to mind explaining to Dorian over and over. Love, it seemed, knew little bounds. His silver gaze glanced briefly away from Dareios then to eye that very brick the vampire spoke off. The manner in which it maintained either heat or cool and yet kept that light at bay a decided advantage- especially for one of that vampire ilk. Dorian nodding thoughtfully in turn.

"I quite like it. I enjoy those older style homes. I suppose they remind me off my own a little. I am still not used to these modern houses with the buttons that do everything."

The trend for universal remotes was not one Dorian had eagerly embraced if only for his lacking ability to understand those concepts. His head shaking slightly as he moved to follow Dareios down and into that basement to view this antiques he had come to see. That query in regards to wine met with a ready grin and that assurance that as an Italian he was hardly inclined to turn down wine in any sense. Dorian watching as the man blew that dust from the aged bottle before expertly popping that cork and fetching those glasses. The sheer size of the home prompting the Fae to ask after those staff that he was sure the vampire must have. After all, surely he did not attend to a house of this size on his own? More then that, Dareios was so clearly a man of at least some level of breeding. People of status so often tended to keep a household staff. Dorian yet to truly come to terms with the notion that staff were perhaps less common then he anticipated. The Monarch still very much caught within that age old manner of thought. Surprise touching his features at that admittance Dareios offered before Dorian merely appeared thoughtful a moment, taking that offered glass.

"You do not have a wife then? Or a woman you are courting? Forgive my prying I am simply so un-used to these modern ideas of relationships. No one is ever married anymore, women seem perfectly happy to be single. It's so different to what I knew."

Marriage, in his time after all, had been of the upmost importance. A good marriage meant everything. They were political deals of the highest order. No woman daring to reach even her mid-twenties without a husband on her arm and at least one child. How the world had changed! Quite without his consent too. Dorian speaking lightly off his own palace as he browsed those antiques then, his fingers brushing over that fine, antique mahogany wood. His head lifting only at Dareios' own query then. His head nodding firmly.

"Yes, I own four Palaces in Italy still. My main home is the Palace of Caserta in Naples, but I also still hold and occasionally visit the Palaces of Turin, Capidmonte and Portici. Most of my business is conducted through Caserta though and it is where I hold court when I am in attendance. I also plan to hold the reception of my wedding there in February."

That smile readily found his lips then as he turned to face Dareios once more. Dorian taking another sip of that entirely pleasant wine then.

"I should like to invite you to my wedding, if you would care to come and should not be put out by travelling to Italy? There are a number of vampires in attendance, including my own fiancé, so the ceremony itself is taking place in the evening and you should not have to worry of the sun. I would be very pleased if you would like to come."

He offered simply. Affording Dareios several moments to consider that offer and the knowledge that he was to wed his vampiric Consort as he returned his attention to that singular piece before him. That query on its age falling from his lips then. Dorian so adoring that fine crafting as Dareios set about explaining all its merits, mentioning that English heritage before explaining that Spanish connection.

"My Mother was Spanish, would you believe? I have never been to an auction, it must be terribly exciting. Although I would not be so surprised to hear that many do not know the value of the things they believe to be worthless. Do you know, when I was small, my Father organised for me to have a boy my age as a playmate. His name was Leonardo and we were terribly close. It was only after I met Sebastian that I learned Leonardo had gone on to become a famous artist and inventor. Da Vinci was his last name. I still have many of his first paintings and notebooks. Sebastian made me give several of them to museums."

That Dorian still did not understand the true value of those original works by Leonardo was perhaps still clear. His attention shifting then to an ago old blanket chest of sorts resting several feet away. His eyes widening slightly as he strode towards it with a distinct intrigue.

"This one I like very much. Tell me, is it for sale, Dareios?"
