East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

He could tell already she was curious by nature. She seemed to only have more questions but he found he didn't mind answering them. It wasn't like she was interrogating him. She was truly curious of his nature and it wasn't like he had anything to hide, not anymore anyway. He had no one to protect anymore. No attachments. Godric was gone, God knows where, and Julia was dead. Plus he wanted to know more about it so it was a win-win. She'd probably get a lot more information out of the deal just cause he'd lived a lot longer but other than that, maybe she'd still experienced things he hadn't. If so, he wanted to hear about it. He wondered to himself if she had any family that might be looking for her, anyone that could have missed her while she was who knows where. She must have been kidnapped and kept against her will. Why else would she look so rough?

If she'd escaped her captors, he could only surmise they would be looking for her soon enough. He wouldn't let them have her. They'd have to go through him first. She was already keeping up a witty banter with him though. Keeping humans around helped keep his humanity more intact. He was pretty disciplined so it wasn't like he was a risk or anything. He just liked hearing about mortality sometimes. It was refreshing to know what he had missed out on. Not that he missed mortality. The house was spacious and the rooms big. Erik didn't like to feel confined so he designed the house himself. Even the hallway was wider than most. He hoped she would relax here and feel safe. Even with the open spaces, he had the best alarm system money could buy....himself. He didn't sleep much anymore. He didn't really need it anymore.

She looked like she had a little more energy anyway by the time she came out of the bathroom. She smelled fresh, her hair like lavender. It soothed him. As he glanced around the kitchen, he caught sight of Darwin too. Erik's lip twitched a little with humor to see his fluffy coat. He was sure Darlene worked on him for an hour or more, but he did look better. Probably smelled better too. At least the cat looked satisfied about being given food and water. He'd put on weight soon enough. Adele and Sorcha were talking but he didn't want to interrupt. Finally he spoke and Sorcha spun around quick, looking scared to death. The thougth was enough to make him tense at the ready to defend her but he caught by her expression that it was his presence that had surprised her.

He smirked. "Sorry, didn't mean to scare you." He could tell she was trying to calm herself, offering a laugh when him and Adele bantered but the laugh was off, like she was forcing it. He raised a brow at her in question, noting that she kept looking at him from around her long lashes. He tilted his head, giving her a knowing smirk as if to say "like what you see?" At his comment about her smell, she rolled her eyes before saying she'd take it as a compliment. He chuckled. "You should." Adele told her about her clothes and she thanked her. Erik couldn't help but smile, glad to see them getting along. He could tell Adele was already very fond of her. Adele nodded and smiled warmly. "Oh, it's nothing. Didn't want you to wear those filthy rags anymore than you already have. I hope you don't mind if I throw them out. Don't think they'll survive the washer anyway." She raised her brow as if waiting to see if Sorcha would argue as she went back to cooking.

Erik could sense Sorcha's hesitation, watching her face from the door frame. Hopefully she didn't feel bad about Adele and him helping her. Adele loved her job and he...he just felt inclined by his very nature to protect those who needed protecting. Darwin made a sound and Erik glanced at him curiously. Its like he could sense Sorcha's discomfort. Interesting. Sorcha came out of her daze to look at him, chiding him for getting food first. Erik smirked. When she turned to him, Erik dipped his head in acknowledgement before moving to take a seat in the chair beside her. He sat quietly as Adele brought her a plate with roast and rice and some green beans. It was a good sized helping but he could tell Adele was really mother henning her. She would make Sorcha put on 20 pounds overnight if she could.

Sorcha must have been starving like he thought though cause she dug in and didn't stop. He smirked but looked away, not wanting to stare. He picked a book up he had on the table and started to read for lack of anything else to do. He glanced up attentively though when Sorcha started speaking between bites. He could tell she was having a hard time not just shoveling food but it was probably good for her to slow down a little. Surely their stomachs might need some adjusting or something. Who knows what she was eating before, if anything. At her sudden question, he raised a brow and shook his head. "No, not anymore. I buy blood from the hospital and blood banks." Catching the twinkle in her eye, he felt his own gaze turn misheveous in return. "Not that I can't find plenty of willing donors."
