i used to rule the world

For a long moment, Alexander simply watched with muted annoyance as the were-creature thrashed about at the interior of his cafe, splintering walls and columns, tossing the chairs and tables and breaking furniture beneath his feet. All he had wanted tonight was to return to the warmth of his own home, to bask in the gloriousness of the cafe's shower and collapse in the comfortable embrace of his bed. How poorly things had and continued to go tonight and yet, Alexander was determined to end things quickly. His blue-green eyes surveyed that scene with that ever-present tactician's mind, piecing together some resemblance of a plan. It was hardly his best plan, bordering upon some level of
dangerous, at least for the Dark Hunter himself. Calliel was particularly inexperience, especially compared to her maker and his own mount. Still, he had to trust her just as she would have to do the same for him. His hand gingerly reached out to brush against her petite figure. Her name was soft upon his lips, the man attempting to instill within her some level of calm as he informed her exactly what he required of her. His very instructions were precise, each action he required of her was done with a specific reason, even if it seemed peculiar presently.
Alexander reached out with his right hand, that spear easily materialized at his very fingertips. He watched as the young woman turned her own head to eye the pointed stick. It was, perhaps, a primitive weapon but he was quite the man of his time. He knew exactly what to expect of such a weapon, the spear entirely meant purely to gain the rhino's attention, to coax the beast's anger rather than to do any real damage to that overly thick hide. It was clear that even Calliel seemed to regard him with some level of skepticism as she considered the extent of his strategy, or at least, what he had told her of it. He could
feel that barrage of thoughts that seemed to fill her mind, his hand against her flesh granted the Dark Hunter unfiltered access to that plethora of considerations. A soft sigh left his lips before the Dark Hunter shook his head ever so slightly, interrupting her. "It has to be two feet, Calliel. If you're too far from him, he'll be out of my reach. If you're too close to him, you won't give me enough room." Perhaps, with a better idea of his intentions, she might be better able to stay on track. He watched as she snorted, suddenly of the decision that she
had to do this in order to make up for the destruction of the cafe. Although Alexander hardly blamed the woman for the damage done to his building, he was willing to accept such a thought process if it ultimately gave the Hunter what he desired. His own head bobbed as he shifted ever so slightly upon her spine, his blue-green eyes steady upon the rhino as his arm lifted that spear in preparation.
The Macedonian King's arm shifted as he threw the spear within his fingertips with particular precision. The shaft spun, slicing through the air before the sharpened edge lodged itself into the Rhino's skin. It was hardly enough to pierce all the way through but it succeeded at exactly what Alexander had wanted it to. The Rhino's attention was fully upon them, the creature's front leg scratching against the ground as he snorted, that agitation clear as he launched himself forward. "Good job, Calliel." He whispered as the rhino tilted his charge towards the right, exactly as Alexander had desired. The spear within the creature's leg seemed to prompt it to favor his left, the very side Alexander truly intended to attach. He shifted upon Calliel's back, his heels digging into her sides to encourage the girl forward. That distance was so quickly closed, his left hand dug into her mane, knowing well she would hardly feel that tugging, her nape blissfully free of those nerves. His hand reached out, a far sharper knife appearing within it as that distance was so quickly closed. Alexander slid along her left side, that 'trick riding', as it was now called, was an art Alexander had mastered long ago, back when it had held more practical uses. He reached down, right along the Rhino's belly, that dagger plunged into the far softer and less protected flesh there as the sharpened point dragged a long line from just under the creature's front foreleg to his back. That dagger disappeared within seconds of Alexander no longer using it, the man using his own upper arm strength to pull himself once again upon her back where he belonged. With the creature flayed in such a fashion, he was unlikely to last for much longer, of that, Alexander was certain. Now, they just had to wait. Thank the stars the Rhino was not particularly good a maneuverability.
