East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

My Own Form Of CHAOS

Isolt seems so aware of her surroundings. I get the feeling she might like to lurk around and explore if given the chance but I don't plan on letting her out of my sight tonight. Not because I don't trust the guys here but rather because I don't trust her instinct to hold back if she feels like she's in danger. Isolt is not longer the weak fragile human who might not be able to hold her on in an attack. She has no idea of the power that runs through her veins now as a vampire and if given the chance, she might hurt someone or worse because she doesn't yet know that power. I can't let that happen. The guilt alone would decimate her, I'm sure. Though I may not see the need for such emotion over a petty human life, Isolt is still too deeply rooted in that part of herself. She still relates to them since the turn is so fresh and I can't bring myself to force it out of her. I could always push her until she flips the switch that turns off all emotions but that seems too mean even for me.

She extends her hand politely as she greets Chaz but as his hand closes so effortlessly over her smaller hand, I feel my blood pressure starting to rise. He flips her hand over gracefully and leans down to brush his filthy lips across the back of her palm and I have to look away or I stand the chance of ripping his jaw right off of his face. I try to focus on the kids laughing and playing a board game in the living room. They're sprawled out on a couch with drinks in their hands as someone spins a little cardboard arrow that tells them where to move on the board. Half the pieces don't even look like they're in a real spot so I'm guessing they're pretty inebriated by this point. Maybe I could get Isolt in on that game and she could have some fun before dinner.

I'm drawn back into the conversation as Chaz practically purrs her name. I can't resist the urge to roll my eyes this time but he's too entranced by her to even notice me at this point. I could be skipping in place and singing Ol' McDonald's farm and I doubt he would even look up. She chuckles like a nervous school girl as she pulls her hand back and I give her a doubting look. She can't actually be charmed by this guy. Then I feel her small fingers wrapping around my arm as she gives it a gentle squeeze and somehow the tension in my body seems to abate somewhat, as if her simple touch can turn my boiling blood to simmer.

The moment I mention what we're here for, her eyes look to me with obvious worry but before I can offer a reassuring comment, Chaz is beckoning us into another room. I fold out my arm for Isolt, motioning ladies first with a demure smirk and a wink as I wait for her to follow after him so I can walk behind her. I'd much rather like the view from back here plus I can make sure no one grabs a feel since I already sense guys staring. We pause as Chaz pours the drinks and she turns back to me, the worry still evident in her eyes as she leans in close so I can smell the perfume on her skin. I have to force myself to focus as she whispers her urgency to me. I raise a brow as she mentions Chaz. She deems him worthy to be her food? I had rather hoped she would pick someone else, someone I don't already hate for touching her but I guess as long as her fangs are the only thing touching him. She doesn't get a chance to go further as he returns with our drinks. I easily reach out to grasp one of the bottles as I turn my gaze to Isolt, my eyes never leaving hers as I lift the bottle and take off the cap with my teeth. Chaz cheers as I spit it out on the floor and take a large swig.

At his proclamation, I raise my bottle.

"Hell yeah."

I reply and he grins as he turns back to the crowd.

"Turn the music up!"

Suddenly the lights dim down and the house is suddenly bathed in the colors of strobe lights. Everyone cheers and you can see people getting up and dancing as they throw their drinks back. Some of the dancing is downright horrible but no one seems to mind. ACDC is blaring as I lean down to whisper in her ear.

"Nothing's going to happen. I won't let it. Now live a little."

I grin at her, my teeth practically glowing in the strobe lights though no one else might notice that my canines have lengthened considerably. I raise my brows suggestively at her.

"You heard him. Let's get this party started."
