The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Henry sat down next to Malia on the bed, unsure of what to do to make himself feel any better than he was feeling in this very moment. His heart was aching and nothing was helping to soothe that ache. When Sterling had kicked him out, he'd tried alcohol, drugs, and tried things Nadya's way when she saw him practically heading down a path of destruction at the bar. But when he had gone back to see that Sterling had skipped town, that hurt far worse.
At Malia's words, Henry sighed softly. No, Sterling was not going to forgive him this time. The pain in his eyes had tore Henry up. The vile way that he had kicked Henry out made it very clear that this time, Sterling would not forgive him. Even though Henry was ready and prepared to give himself completely to the man, the feelings had not been reciprocated.
He sighed softly as he turned to look up at Malia. "Not this time, Malia...he's gone for good." The apartment had been a ghost town. The mail hadn't been picked up in days, dust was collected on the houseplant that sat in the corner of the living room. The apartment had been barren for days with no sign of anyone coming anytime soon.
Henry buried his face in his hands again, his shoulders slumping. That feeling of hopelessness washed over him again as he began to feel tears prick at the corners of his eyes. "I gave him my whole heart and he stabbed it with a knife..." Henry had wanted to propose to Sterling, to make their love official. He wanted a life with the black haired boy. But instead of a sweet proposal, he was given a harsh rejection. "I don't know how to make the pain go away." He had fucked up a lot in his life, but just when he was starting to get things right, it was like life pushed him back three spaces. Just when it was all starting to make sense, he was thrust into a maze that he couldn't find his way out of.
