It was so easy to imagine her boyfriend in his element on the back of one of these majestic animals. He seemed so at home on the creature's back that she could already imagine him riding an armor plated steed into battle with spear raised high and a war cry on his beautiful lips. It was enough to make heat curl in the bottom of her stomach and she brought her bottom lip between her teeth as color flushed her cheeks for a moment at the mental image. He had no idea the effect he had on her, his eyes straight ahead as they rode, like his mind was a million miles away.
The moment they did lock eyes, he complimented her riding and she gave the thanks to him. With a chuckle that drew her gaze to his lips for a moment, Alexander tried to be modest, saying it wasn't as difficult as it seems. That got her attention away from his handsome features as she scoffed. "Maybe for someone born on horseback." She reached down to pat the mare's neck in gratitude. "She's a good girl, but I know not all horses can make it look so simple. I've seen movies, you know. Spirit?" She raised a brow at him teasingly. Of course, she had no idea the animated movie about wild horses might not be so real, but it was the first one that came to mind and she did adore that movie.
When he asked about the lake, she was surprised at first. She'd had no idea he was trying to bring her somewhere romantic. She thought this was more about teaching her how to ride, something he enjoyed to do, and yet still he found a way to be the best boyfriend ever and make it about her. What did she ever do to get so lucky? She made a soft comment about getting used to it and he told her that he hoped she would. Her lips tugged into a small smile as she turned her gaze back to him, listening as he told her the trail wrapped around the lake and they should be back before nightfall. "Sounds like I should be home before curfew then." She smirked, her green eyes twinkling teasingly. She knew Alexander probably had other stuff to do, but she couldn't help but feel like she never wanted the night to end. Seemed a repetitive theme any time they spent time together.
