East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

His blue-green gaze fluttered over the crowd outside of his cozy cafe, shifting from one individual to the next in a nonchalant fashion, his attention disrupted only by the flash of lightning that lit up the increasingly darkening sky. For once, Alexander was grateful that there was no where for him to go, his home resting on the floor above the cafe, hardly requiring him to even step over the threshold and into the torrent beyond. That was, however, until he saw her. He could effortlessly pick her out amongst the crowd of humans if only for the innate difference that screamed were to him. Usually, Alexander was quite good at ignoring such instincts that still rested somewhere deep within him, only this time he let his gaze trail after her, intending to follow her only until she too left his view before, quite abruptly, she didn't. His eyebrows rose ever so slightly as she paused at the front of his door, stepping into the warmth of the cafe. He watched her drop her hood, her ebony hair falling around her in tight wet clumps. Slowly he put his coffee down on the table in front of him, the plate and pastry following as she walked past, choosing a booth of her own.

Alexander's fingers raced up to trace the corners of his lips, making sure that there wasn't even the smidgen of jelly left before he rose, wandering slowly over towards her table. There was something almost delicate about the young girl from the way she wrapped her arms around herself in an almost insecure fashion. He came to a stop a the booth across form her, leaning against the edge of it in a placid fashion, this time making the effort to offer her the smallest glimpses of a rare simper as she noticed his presence in an almost astonished fashion. The sensation, however, was quickly replaced with one he couldn't quite place, his eyebrows furrowing as he inquisitively eyed the female. "It's no trouble." He insisted simply with the smallest of shrugs upon his shoulders, watching as she glanced back down at the men in front of her. "Did something catch your eye?" The dark hunter inquired, clearly intending to fetch her something now that she'd stepped into his shop and thus, under his care.

It was right about this time that another bold of lightning struck across the sky, filling the world with a bright purple hue for a brief moment, the lights overhead flickering in a foreboding fashion. His sea colored eyes shifted upwards, his lips pressing together in a small frown. "That would be inconvenient." Alexander commented, more to himself then the girl present. It was true that Alexander had lived in a world before modern electricity when light came only from the moon and the flickering of fire. Electricity happened to be a commodity that the Dark Hunter had grown fond of, never mind that the machines that pressed the coffee beans into espresso required it.
