She wasn't a fan of the hustle and bustle that occurred deep within the heart of the city. The loud noises, the overcrowded sidewalks caused the girl to clench her teeth. Raven was extremely uncomfortable. Unable to flatten her ears she would lower her head trying to drown out the noise of the cars and the loud chatter that surrounded her. She much preferred the peace and quiet that came with the outdoors. Perhaps that is why her second favorite place was the warehouse district. Narrow streets and alleyways, small shops, little stretch of land rudely called a 'park,' and because the human traffic was not as hectic it brought her much ease to live amongst those that called the warehouse home. Besides, she had the ocean view and on some morning. Some days she would go down to the docks and watch the ships go by. Sometimes she would climb to the top of the highest roof, and if she was at the right time and spot she could see a perfect sunrise or a stunning sunset. The West side had grown on her. The great outdoors was a better place to be in, but because the Dark Hunters were filtering in, she thought it best she should stay on grounds she was more familiar with.
Besides within that territory was the pack she had joined. After the scene during the Masquerade Ball she appreciated the green-eyed man had come when she was in a little bit of trouble. It only reassured her that he truly cared...well, maybe just a little bit. Nadya had mentioned that he may have only offered the invite because they were both in trouble and he was just being polite. He could have left her at the zoo. He could have not helped her climb a tree, and being naked and alone he could have done more nefarious things. Yet he did no such thing. He offered her a chance to be a part of something, a chance to actually be a part of a real pack...and for a wolf that was an offer she couldn't refuse. Yet she had to make sure everyone within it would be okay. After all, she was unwanted by her own blood, and the last thing she wanted in her new pack was to not be wanted again. Today she had left the safety of her new home to return with a brand new book. The small bookstore in the West did not carry the next tome in her series, and she was hoping to begin her new read tonight, because she had absolutely zero plans and no one could possibly ruin a rare night to catch up on her book.
I'd Rather Feel Pain Then Nothing At All
