"Alright, Alexis, you're up. Get home safely, okay? It's raining cats and dogs out there." The other hostess commented in concern as she walked behind the counter to take over. Alexis smiled back at Gertrude in reassurance as she took off her apron and hung it up by her cubby. "Thanks, I will. See you Thursday!" Giving a wave, the WereFox made her way toward the cafe door, her sensitive nose already picking up on the refreshing rain waiting just outside. She loved it when it rained; she always had. Her gaze didn't wander around the cafe this time as she made her escape, knowing her favorite Dark Hunter and employer wasn't around today. He'd had some errands to run, so maybe she'd see him later. He was busy a lot with the Council, after all. Pushing open the door, she looked up from under the awning, taking in the dark storm clouds overhead. It looked like it was going to rain for a while. The smile deepened on the woman's lips as she stepped out under the droplets.
The other people on the sidewalk hiding under their umbrellas stared at her in shock, but she only sighed and kept walking. She was soaked in seconds, but didn't care, making her way down the sidewalk and heading toward the docks. She'd probably get a warm shower when she got to the Ark then go see if Raven needed any help with her son. Otherwise, she'd find a nice book to curl up with in the library. That was the perfect way to spend a rainy day. The Were didn't notice until it was too late that she had stepped out into the road without looking and a car was speeding right toward her. The driver was looking at his phone and when he glanced up and cursed, he slammed on the brakes, but knew it was too little, too late. With the slick road, he was sliding, heading right for the oblivious woman. Alexis heard the screeching of the tires and only then did she turn to see what was coming.
