East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

There was a snarl that wanted to rip from his throat the moment she touched him but Animal remained silent.

Instead a flash of anger boiled in that dark gaze, mixed with indignance and hate. He had not been expecting her to accept. He had not been expecting her decline either and yet... a happy medium between the two had not been reached. She had failed in self preservation, failed in common sense. His instinct to recoil into a tight little ball and hiss loudly flared in his mind and for the briefest of moments his grip tightened on her flesh; an unusual amount of anger bubbling inside of him.

There was a strong desire to rip her apart. To shred her limb from little limb and spread her across the city. A doorstep present for the Courts, perhaps, or an early bedtime snack for the inner demon that lurked behind Animal's every move and thought.

Oh, how easy it would be... to engulf her whole in a thick black smoke and devour her, piece by piece. It shouldn't be that way, yet here she was. Too close. Too easy. His lips pursed into a thin line as he stared down at her, every and any amusement from his eyes vanishing into a hardened grey gaze. How dare she touch him...? Animal's jaw set into something close to stone, nostrils flaring as they met face to face for merely a few moments. It was enough. Enough for that upper lip of his to curl into a cold sneer, for his eyes to squint and his teeth to bare the moment she released him and him her. The small space of air between them once she sat seemed to help his mood and the vile that had seeped into him so suddenly seemed to lessen as he stared down at her, watching from the corner of his eye.

He listened quietly at her retort and a hint of the dark amusement seemed to return to his features. Slowly his body dissipated into that wafty cloud of black smoke, shifting in the wind to move closer to the female fae sitting upon the wall. The tendrils of smoke draped over her shoulders like a shadow of a shawl, drifting over her skin and hovering languidly by her neck. The voice that came from it was incredibly close, as if someone might be pressing dangerously close to her ear. "Unless of course this is a dream," The whisper cooed. "In which case... you've shared far more than you ever would have wanted."

have you no idea that you're in this deep?
I've dreamt about you nearly every night this week
