East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

for the lips of a forbidden woman drip honey
her speech is smoother than oil
but in the end she is bitter as wormwood
sharp as a two-edged sword
her feet go down to death
her steps follow the path to Sheol

- PROVERBS 5:3-5;;
There was a soft sigh on her sweet heart lips, accompanied quite abruptly with a roll of her slate tinged gaze. Tonight she seemed to only be in the mood for her own kind of sarcasm. "I can turn you into a bat for your get away if you prefer." She retorted, heavily leaning against the door frame as she watched him with a quiet grey tinged gaze. Unlike before, Serafina couldn't find it without herself for the irritation that was present within her voice to reach her soul. She was too tired. She'd used too much of her self to give him the assurance that he had requested. She was expecting him to leave her shop, expecting to be able to close up and at least nap upon her bench before she gathered herself together enough to make the trek to her townhouse. His comment drew the young girl's attention from her idle realization at just how pathetic it was that the night before her actually sounded half way decent. She waved off any concern lacing his soft masculine voice with a slight brush of her hand, "Such is the nature of my work." She replied, for once lacking any venom in her voice. She was too used to the cuts on her wrists and hands, and though they certainly sent a kind of message, she hardly cared of what others thought of her. The only thing that mattered to her was her work - it was the only thing she really had within her life.

The sigh on his lips and his commanding tone caught the young woman off guard and for a moment she simply stared at him as her brain sluggishly processed just what he was insinuating. She was to join him? On his murder job? Was she up for this? Did she want to go to dinner with some complete stranger? A small frown traced her lips but she hardly had it within her to be stubborn. "Turn off the lights." She intoned, turning to take several wavering steps towards her work bench before stopping mid trek and deciding, quite abruptly, that it could all wait till the morning. Frankly, Serafina just wanted to sit down. She waved off the prospect of cleaning up, instead turning back towards the man, innately reaching out to him as if there was some understanding that somehow he was going to be her lifeline. She hardly realized that he'd offered his hand till her fingertips brushed against his, and briefly she leaned forward, her forehead pressing against his chest. "Stupid room spinning." She muttered into his clothing, taking the moment to breathe the scene of his clothing. His demand for the keys caused Serafina to gesture briefly towards a small niche under the desk where she stashed her bag.

She was willing to let him take care of things, frankly she'd consider it a success if she managed to get to a vehicle. She meandered slowly towards the door of the shop, trusting in him to at least not break anything only to stop in the door frame of her shop to look out onto an empty street in front of her. Of course he came by foot. There was a groan to her lips as she turned around, waiting for him before daring to leave the comfort of her little hole in the wall. The moment he was near enough to her, Serafina took it upon herself to lace her arm against his, much like the women used to do in the victorian era. "I hope your not taking me far." She commented softly, a frown crossing her feminine features. She wasn't sure how long she trusted herself on two feet and really he was too handsome to just...faint on.
