The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

If you play, you play for keeps So intent was she on her study of everyone within the little café that had to be blind to miss the man as he swept through the door. There was a determined edge to him, like he was on a mission and before she knew it she was shifting in her seat in order to get a better view of him. There was a certain grace to him, she couldn't quite put her finger on it, but he reminded her of those ballet dancers. He seemed to flow across the floor. Hiding behind her cup she views the situation, of how he walks to the counter, the air about him screaming funeral procession. She holds her breath sure that fireworks are about to explode at any moment and then....nothing. He orders a cup of something hot before turning around. Everything about him screamed defeated and it pulled at her. It was too pretty a day, to gorgeous a city to be moping. Gathering her meager things she slides from her booth, her yellow heels winking in the light as she makes her way toward the booth he now occupied. He didn't even notice her as she slid in opposite him, curious eyes peering into his cup. "What do you have to drink? It looks hot." She murmurs, fully aware that she was uninvited but was trying valiantly not to show she cared. Glancing toward the window she is struck again by how odd it was that he was drinking a hot beverage during summer but once again she let it go. "I am Kendralis. Are you okay? I can kick someone's butt for you if you like?" Her face is alight with worry and humor as she strikes her best seated karate pose. She was sure she looked silly which made her easy smile widen even more to expose white even teeth. Picking up her half full latte she takes another sip, curious eyes watching him over the rip as she plays with a napkin. Would he respond? Would he become irate and kick her from his booth? Anxiety begins to swell within her breast but she does her best to put on her best smile and hope for the best. I Don't Believe In Magic BUT I Believe In YOU |
