The loud demonic screech seemed to provoke that woman from that peaceful slumber she partook in from her perch upon on the swing. She exclaimed, yelling frantically which bled out into the night admitting that she was awake. All Brennan could think of was that there was yet another liability. She needed to leave, protect and save herself, surely she knew how to manage that. Little did he know that they were both thinking the same thing, from here she appeared nothing more than human. That beast could cut through her like water, he knew the capabilities of those unforgiving talons that appeared like dexterous raptor claws. A worn sigh escapes his lips, this would be far less complicated without an onlooker that he felt would only prove to be a distraction. He told her she should go and save herself. It would be the wise decision in the face of such peril. Could she not see the beast with her own two eyes?

It did not occur to him that this creature could wake up the whole bloody block, he was out of practice with such human things like the quietude of a neighbourhood. Wonderful, even more liabilities that he could not afford to tend to. He was not designed to be anyone's hero, he could barely keep his own drowning self afloat.

What he did not expect, was for her to suddenly be offended by his words and for the beast to charge at him like a bull seeing red. Or what was more surprising, was the fact she growled at him like something that could bite. A confused frown crossed his features for a but a confused second, a second was all he could afford. That demon's mark burned like a son of a bitch and distracted him from that strange girl's mannerisms.

Human? Please, he couldn't remember the last time he was, hell, even the last time life was simple. "Who are you calling human, girl?" Despite the situation, a small smirk played upon his lips. He had missed the woman's partial transformation into that creature. She becomes half animal half human, those traits amalgamating together to a point where she was neither one nor the other, but both. He didn't know much about were's nor their capabilities. Only that they grew furry once a month and had a crappy time with silver. Hell, he wasn't ever a very good warlock. Yet. He was a soldier, a fighter, a man who knew how to combat tooth and nail for his own survival and still come out on top. He fought dirty if he had to, especially if it meant survival. It was a good thing he was damn good at it, considering how life liked to muddle up his life quite a bit and he had a bit of a nasty vengeance streak. He had spent too much goddamn time in that hell dimension to simply allow himself to be eaten by a tame one in comparison to the others he'd met. There was no way he would be this creature's meal, no damn way.

The man summoned his abilities producing a blade in which suddenly appeared within his hand, it glowed a vibrant electric blue colour that was bright against the darkness that surrounds the park. The only light that illuminated the isolated park was by the glow of a synthetic light overhead that flickered in a manner that would have been deemed creepy by most horror movie standards. But it sure as hell didn't deter her, she already tore off like a wild banshee, leaping barefoot onto that creatures back without a second thought. Were those her claws that slashed at that armoured skin? This chick was bat shit crazy. He laughed at himself in disbelief, shaking his head briefly before he set into action. The creature bucked wildly as if trying to throw her to the ground. He would need to be cautious of those talons, they could probably leave his insides pooling out all over the sand. The Irishman could imagine the poor kid having to stumble on that.

He had no intention of that tonight. He moves quickly, travelling those steps toward the beast as it roars, spit flying everywhere from that rancid smelling mouth. He needed a breath mint bad. The beast lunged at him, snapping his teeth inches from his face. He backs up just enough to miss it actually making purchase, far too close to his liking. The creature rears up, the girl doing quite a number on his back, hopefully, she could reach that spine but he wasn't really counting on it. It was that moment when its belly was exposed that he acts. Quickly he moves upon nimble feet forward, careful of those flailing talon hands before plunging that blade home into the plushy vulnerable underbelly. At first, it looked like he didn't make much damage but then the thick black blood began to flow. It only made the creature more pissed off as it tried to crush Brennan beneath his impressive weight.

He called to her, loud enough over the grunts and ragged sounds of the demon creature. He could have finished the beast already but with the girl on its back, she deserved a bit of a warning, no? "Hey weregirl, or whatever you are. If you can get him to rear up again I can put the explodey thing in his chest. He goes kaboom and we can go about our merry little night. Sound good?" He explains hurriedly as time was of the essence, his Irish accent thicker in pressing times such as this. He is quick moving though, his feet carrying him away just nearly missing a talon, poised and ready at a moment's notice to strike. He didn't realise that it nicked him right upon his cheek, his warlock silver blood dripping down his face. Ever since he became a warlock his blood turned that strange silvery colour. It felt way too girly for him, alas, he didn't have a choice in the matter. He stood ready never turning his back and always moving, misdirecting the creature. Never stop moving with these things, some of them like this one had poor eyesight. Yet he can't help but wonder what the hell they were doing here? It was earth for crying out loud. Earth had all sorts of supernatural sophisticated creatures but demon monster things were just not part of that ever growing list.
