He was beyond relieved to have Isolt back in his good graces. At least he could go back to enjoying her presence without feeling like he was walking on eggshells. Well, mostly. He was still sucking up to her in a way but that might never go away completely. There was a layer of trust he had wrecked through not once but twice now. While she may always love him, he had to earn her trust again. He knew that would be no easy feat. But in the meantime, she could enjoy all the expensive cuisine she wanted. Vampire friendly, of course. He wanted to spend time with her, show her that she was worth it. His hand eagerly reached for hers across the table as they waited for their meal. There was a live band playing slow romantic music and they had the VIP section all to themselves. He had almost reserved the whole restaurant, wanting nothing to get in the way of their time. His finger drew small heart patterns on the back of her palm, smirking at her in that devilish way he knew she liked. As the waitor delivered their entrees, he made to dig in, but something caught his attention. He heard someone talking loudly. He could tell it was outside and usually he wouldn't have bothered but the voice sounded somehow familiar. Was that...Arlo? His head tilted and as he gave Isolt another roguish smile, his gaze swept over her shoulder to the window only to see none other than the younger vampire he'd come to befriend. He seemed to be on the run...but from what? Damon thought about ignoring it, just for a night. He glanced again at Isolt, wanting just to ignore all of his consciousness and just go on with their date, but somehow his gaze kept getting dragged back to Arlo. Dammit. This is what he got for trying to be nice. Just more trouble. When he heard more yelling, he decided he couldn't take it anymore. Standing, he waved the waitor over for the check and flashed Isolt an apologetic smile. "Sorry, love. Would you excuse me for a moment?" Hoping she wouldn't be too pissed, he made his way out the restaurant and toward where he could still hear Arlo yelling at...well, someone. "Arlo? Buddy? Everything okay out here?" He called out as he made his way to where he could hear him. |
