Despite the young witch's best efforts to meld herself into the booth behind her seemed all for naught, especially when she felt the weight of his gaze settle upon her. Briefly, and with a tinge of shame, her grey tinged gaze met his, watching with incredulousness as he plucked his glass off the solid oak bar to wander into her general direction with her thrown card within his other hand. Uh oh. Somehow...she knew this was not going to go very well at all. She remained perfectly still, nestled deeply within her seat with no real reason to move. Her eyes shifted from the pile of cards in front of her toward the missing one she'd haphazardly discarded, his comment seeing her sweet heart lips press together briefly. "Maybe..." Serafina commented with an obvious hesitation. The hanged little man was certainly not her
favorite card, especially with what she anticipated that it meant and frankly she had been willing to let it go, provided the man hadn't noticed her...which he had. She supposed, in retrospect, that it was better this way, that she take the brunt of whatever angry words he had to say if only because they claimed an incomplete deck brought bad fortune to all who used it.
What the kitten hadn't anticipated, however, was to find that the man she'd accidentally hit might be interested in
small talk...with
her of all the things. Her eyebrow rose ever so slightly as he slid in the seat in front of her, his tone even....jovial perhaps but certainly not the fury she had been expecting. Serafina paused, slowly scooting upward from her failed attempt as hiding as her fingers reached out to pluck the card from the table, placing it gingerly back upon the top of her deck. "Out for you, no. Although it could be fate's way of saying we both need a new perspective on things." The prospect alone made the young girl grumble, especially because she
hated having to listen to either the lupine or her mentor, as bizarre as that might seem. There was some innate rebelliousness settled deep within her, melded into her persona so much that even if they were right, Serafina could never find it within herself to actually
admit it.
Her stormy eyes turned towards the man across from her and with a fluid, feline like motion the young girl stretched her spine, leaning forward in the process to place her elbows on the table and her chin within her hands. "So, dear stranger, what new prospective did you come over here to provide me with, hm?" Her head tilted to the side in a brief display of inquisitiveness. In truth, she didn't actually expect for him to have some gem of wisdom - quite certain in what she thought the cards were actually telling her. However, it seemed like a fine enough way to continue such an already peculiar conversation. Who knows - maybe there might be something to this meeting after all and maybe it was something they both could benefit from, even if she doubted very much that the something was a new spin on life.
