Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
That Sebastian was, in that moment, pleased to be so young saw a ready simper tug at the Monarchs features once more. Dorian, in this, hardly willing to blame his Consort for so seeking to avoid any claim to a dance such as that, one even Dorian himself, despite the many times he had performed it still failed to do so with a straight face on many occasions. It was, however, the very idea that he would like to show his companion his own home one day that so saw the Monarch extend some effort in this to at least make the vampire familiar with the idea of a dance that was as wholly popular in the 15th century as it was now. After all, it would be expected of Sebastian, on some level, to partake of something as important as the very dances that still held import in the courts of Naples and by extension Italy itself. His efforts here and now however, were entirely satisfactory to the King all the same, Dorian unable to prevent the amusement he so took from his lovers attempts all the same before so willingly seeking to engage the man in one of his more modern dances. The notion of where and how Sebastian had learned this aforementioned Salsa sees the softest look of inquisitiveness return to his features all the same. These names and places were unfamiliar to him and yet once more Dorian finds himself pleased to simply know these things of his lover, small and perhaps unimportant though they were in the very scheme of things, each offered piece of information still meaningful to the Fae in some fashion and indeed endearing him all the more to the man whom held him now.
This idea of 'lifts' however is near entirely absurd to the man. That one, as Sebastian suggested, might be lifted upward as part of a dance was utterly unheard of! There was but one dance Dorian so knew of that afforded even the vaguest of lifts and indeed this was no more than the smallest of leaps to the side by the woman while her partner so held her waist. Such a thing referred to as a 'jump' on most occasions and hardly seeming to be of merit enough as to so inspire that which Sebastian spoke off. It is however, as always, that near intense curiosity for the unknown that sees such inquisitiveness remain upon his features at the very idea of something so wholly brazen. The notion of newness, of uniqueness, of anything which he did not already know held within it a distinct appeal to the ancient Fae. So many years spent within the same place, surrounded by the same faces and so limited in that which was accessible to him had resulted in something of a weakness almost for anything and everything unknown to him.
"This is a very intriguing notion."
He comments simply, his thoughts lingering upon it only so long as it took Sebastian to so begin those steps to this newest of dances. Dorian readily captivated by such a thing as this, mirroring the man several times before so finding that same rhythm to match the vampires own.
It is fortunate perhaps, that Sebastian so seeks to distract him then with the very requirements for this Salsa dance. The silver gaze of the Fae lingers so pointedly upon his companion in that moment, so seeking to master those steps required of him. It is, it would seem, a relatively simple dance and yet the steps remained wholly enjoyable- Dorian easily falling readily into that pattern before so quickening his steps to match the vampires own. It takes but a moment longer for the Fae to find himself comfortable within those strides, affording the dance but an extra step that so allowed his lips to brush teasingly against his lovers own. He steps easily outward once more, turning lightly back into Sebastian's arms before allowing his lips, this time, to grace Sebastian's cheek with the faintest of chuckles. Dorian, as always, eternally content to find his own teasing steps in all they did before so announcing his own assurance he had mastered such a thing within those Spanish lyrics.
The surprise upon his companion's features at those accented words is hardly missed, another soft chuckle so rising within Dorian's own throat at that look of inquisitiveness that had so momentarily lingered there. Naples, after all, was far from any places Sebastian had so mentioned having learned such a dance, even Spain itself somewhat out of his reach and yet in this Dorian is content enough to supply something of an answer to an unspoken question.
"In fourteen ten King Martin the First died without heir, he was, among many things, Count in Barcelona and King in Castile- a very large portion of this modern day Spain. When he died his titles and lands passed to the nearest of his relatives, my great grandfather and The House of Trastamara from which I descend. My family ruled much of Spain for many years and though this has changed much I hold a small title and land there still. Thus it was deemed I should learn its language even if I have never set foot upon it."
He did not, in any sense, anticipate Sebastian to recall such information and yet he offers it all the same if only for simply allowing his companion to know more of him. Dorian too, taking some amusement in his Spanish title despite his never having been to the land itself as that Salsa so comes to an end and Sebastian's own flawless use of such a language sees that grin return. That neither the Waltz nor the Salsa were the favoured dances of his companion however see that hint of surprise return to his features. Sebastian, it seemed, knew a veritable plethora of dances! This Tango however, was yet another he had never yet heard of, the vampire assuring him such a thing would hardly grace a courtroom before so stating his might show to him these steps and this lift that had so intrigued him before. Dorian quite content in the very delight that seemed to exist in Sebastian's voice all the same, the man finding himself inclined to those carefree lyrics and this loosening of decorum that so often seemed to exist around them both as his gaze returns briefly to Sebastian's feet in an effort to so observe them.
"If we are to so try one of these lifts I hold every faith you will not drop me- though if you do I shan't forgive you for at least fifteen minutes.
There is little save for tease to his words, a soft chortle humming within his throat all the same as Dorian so moved to learn these newest of steps- these ones of a more complex nature then either of the others- his features frowning softly in concentration.
"I think you are correct in this, it shall take me more than one evening to master this one and yet- what have we if not time?"
That warm simper so dances upon his features once more at the words. The Fae King, for the first time in more centuries then he cared to count, finding delight in the time his immortality might afford him if only for the time in which it might give him to linger still in the vampires company. Dorian shifted then to correct his own misstep in this, content to learn such a dance if only because it was his lovers favoured. That it held meaning to Sebastian in some sense so assuring Dorian's attention upon it before the Fae spoke again as he continued to practice. His question, this time, decidedly unusual and yet there lingered a meaning behind it all the same.
"Bastien, what is your middle name? If you have one, that is. I do not know if the English uphold such a custom."
Dorian Aragona
