Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Edie had been moving even before she got the call.

It had started off as a normal evening. Frost was out - which wasn't uncommon, really, and Edie hadn't bothered asking where he was going - and Kato was out working at the market. Claire was busy in her room and had left Edie alone in the den to actually spend some time reading. She'd just settled on the couch with Jane Austen's Emma when she'd felt it. That sharp, horrible tug on that bond that so connected her to her Alpha. It had been enough to make her gasp and sit up fully. Within seconds, Edie was on her feet at the realization that Frost was in trouble. Claire had just made it to the landing before Edie had sent her back to her room. No, Edie alone would go make sure that Frost was okay. Edie would help in whatever way that she could. She owed Frost that much. She was his Beta, after all. Shouldn't it be her?

She'd been blindly following that bond of theirs before he'd called her, and it was only once she'd heard his voice that her body seemed to relax. He was hurt - very much so - but he was alive.

She heard the screaming before she felt the tug of their bond as she approached. She halted in her steps for just a moment, pausing to take in the noise. Female screams. Female. Not Frost. Not Frost. Quickly, Edie propelled herself forward and into the onslaught of the noise. Her eyes fell first on the bleeding woman - who was now shrieking that Edie help her - and briefly she considered pausing to heal her. But then her eyes fell on Frost and that woman was entirely forgotten. She surged towards him, pausing just as she was about to throw her arms around him as she took in the wounds that laced her Alpha's form. "Frost," Edie whispered, her tone entirely horrified. It was nothing she couldn't heal, of that she was sure, and yet the very idea that he was hurt made her sick.

But Frost seemed preoccupied with the woman, and obediently her eyes traveled over to that shrieking woman. Briefly, she pursed her lips together at the almost... cruel way that Frost had handled her. "She's human, Frost." Edie said quietly, as though that made a difference. And it did. Weres and vampires and Hunters... they healed. Humans... She sighed. "At the very fucking least, we don't need Hunters after us tonight for harming a human. Look at you, Frost. You're a damn mess." She scolded, her eyes traveling to the bloodied woman as her own affinity reached out, rapidly healing those wounds that Frost had given her. It was the least she could do for her.

Edie's lips pursed together as Frost stepped forward, the woman hardly enjoying the command that she was given - especially not the business-like tone that Frost used with her now when she was so usually presented with a sort of fondness from him - and yet Edie made no effort to protest. Not now. She moved beside him, draping his arm around her shoulder. She may have been considerably shorter than he was, but it was enough support to get them both walking. Though she didn't say anything, her mind certainly was focused on the fact that he had acid in his shoulder - how the hell?

It was certainly a struggle to keep them walking. Edie could have healed him there, and perhaps a good Beta would have. But she wanted to get him in light. Make sure she could see the damage that she had to undo. And, well, it wouldn't be bad for him to think about the wounds as they made their way home. What was he thinking? Who had he hurt - he must have won if he walked out of this alive - and why had he challenged someone without her near? Without his pack near? She was angry and worried and frankly terrified by that jolt of her bond. It was a feeling she certainly never wanted to feel again.

It was only once they were in front of their home did Frost speak her name, and Edie didn't react other than to haul him the final few feet home and to the steps of their porch. She paused to help him sit down before she knelt in front of him, shaking her head at the wounds that were all over him. It would likely take all of her strength to heal him - she shouldn't have healed the stupid woman - and yet she remained convinced that it would be no problem. No, just where to start...

Her head jerked up as he spoke again, those words taking several seconds to fully register with the Beta woman. No, she'd been so preoccupied with how to heal him that she hadn't truly been listening. But it was that grave tone that had her attention, and those words that seemed to chill her whole body. Tetradore was dead? By Frost's hand, at that? Edie supposed she should have been... what, horrified? Yes, she should have been horrified by her Alpha's admittance to murder, and yet all Edie could feel was... well, relief that he was okay. Relief and loyalty and... well, given her own hatred of the rival pack... pride.

"It looks like you killed him and almost killed yourself, too," was all Edie said, her green eyes flicking up to Frost. She knew this about him. Alexis had told her. She'd seen it himself. He could be cold and cruel and clearly murderous, and yet when she looked at him she saw the gentle man that let her sleep next to him in Vegas or had given her a home and a place when no one else would have her. She saw the same man she always had. One who valued her and thought she was powerful and, whether he cared to admit it or not, loved her. And she loved him, too. Loved him and was unfailingly loyal to him. That would not change, not even with this information.

"It looks like we need a plan then. The Nightshade pack will find out - if they don't know already. We need to be prepared for that. They're going to want your head." She let out a breath as she reached up, forcibly tilting his head to the side so she could better examine his shoulder. She was practically in his lap as she leaned over him. Acid. It burned at his skin and frankly, Edie wasn't sure if she could heal it, but now wasn't the time for self doubt. She would heal him because she was his Beta and she had to. Because she couldn't stand if he was hurt. Because she'd rather have the wound herself than watch him be in pain.

Her fingers brushed over his shoulder, careful not to touch the acid herself. She let her affinity reach out and will that wound to close. And it had only just began to close when that acid seemed to sizzle and reopen. "Shite," Edie hissed, leaning back just enough to look him in the eye. "I have to get the acid out of the wound, I think." She said firmly, her voice holding all the command that her position entailed. She cared little that she was giving commands to her Alpha. No, right now she would be more focused on the fact that she would do whatever it took to keep him safe. "Wait here." She commanded before she stood, darting into the house. She returned only moments later with a towel and peroxide. She knelt in that same position - half balanced on the steps and half in his lap - before she effectively poured that liquid on the wound at the same time she allowed her affinity to work. Between her power and dabbing at the wound with a towel, she was relieved to see it finally close. Well, relieved and slightly breathless. That had taken considerably more of her energy than she'd expected.

Still, the young woman didn't pause as she let her fingers trail over his body, working her magic to close all of those wounds and insure that he would be okay. There would be bruising - she was too tired to heal that - but the worst of it was taken care of. The worst of it, he would be fine. It was only then did she stand once more, hoisting him to his feet to pull him inside the pack house. It would do neither of them good to sit and be exposed when they were both exhausted - him from his fight and her from dealing with the wounds.

Only once they were inside and he sat in his favored chair did Edie look at him. She sat down on the edge of his chair, reaching out to run a hand affectionately through those bloodied locks of his. "You scared me," She said softly, letting that emotion that she felt only for him show in those brief moments. She didn't elaborate. She didn't need to tell him about the tug on that bond or the way she'd been fearful he might be taken from her. No, if he knew her as well as she suspected he did, he would know that already. Still, those words were all that she gave him of those emotions before her own tone returned to that commanding, slightly business-like demeanor.

"We'll have to keep the pack safe. I don't know Scarlett well enough, but I don't think Claire would fare well in a fight." She said simply, those green eyes trained on him. "What do you need me to do?"
