Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Sebastian Ellingtonget close enough to have fun
but not enough to get attached

That sleep the vampire was so cursed to endure was all but an oppressive weight, washing over him like a tide that stole the Englishman the moment Dorian's affinity so began to leave his momentarily living physique. That death tugged at him with a far more demanding edge than usual, leaving him all but oblivious to not only his lover's restless form at his side but also, hours later, to the fashion in which the King had so left him. It had never occurred to Sebastian to so inquire after those years he had spent celebrating Christmas in Italy, after all, the vampire was going to experience such a thing himself but a week or so later. What had occurred to him, however, was the absence of that warmth when he so awoke, if it could so be called that. He was conscious, at least, even though he hardly shifted in the darkness of that room. He simply laid there for some time before shifting, rolling over to his back, his eyes slowly fluttered open. A small yawn crossed his lips as his gaze trailed over the contents of his bedroom. Where Dorian had so gone too, he hadn't the slightest notion and yet that alone was enough to cause the vampire to sit up in his bed. He reached up to rub the sleep from his eyes, his eyebrows furrowing ever so slightly in the process. Slowly, Sebastian pulled himself from the depths of his bed, simply sitting on the side of his mattress with a soft sigh. He felt more exhausted them normal after the use of Dorian's ability. His body felt somehow...different. He felt sluggish and...dead.

It was this very thing he so contemplated when the sound of hurried footsteps drew his gaze upwards. A hint of concern crossed his features at that sound alone. Those footsteps source far too hurried to be from his Royal lover and that alone certainly added a level of worry. He slipped from the breed, pulling on a pair of pants to resemble some level of appropriateness, even though the staff at large had certainly seem him in a variety of states far worse than this. Still, it was the sound of his name that caused the man to turn. "Elaine?" He inquired, pausing at the foot of the bed. He could tell she was upset but why, he hadn't the faintest idea. His lips pressed together ever so slightly as he listened to the woman speak with such worry over her discovery of his boyfriend in front of that Christmas tree downstairs, crying over a single box the vampire had purchased for him. His eyebrows furrowed slightly as the woman informed him that this was indeed the King's first true Christmas. Slowly he stepped closer towards the woman, offering her a quiet word of reassurance that he fully intended to see to it that this year was wholly memorable for the fae, and indeed the planned to do just that. It was only once she had gained some measure of calmth, and perhaps a muttered word that whatever was on the stove smelled as if it was going to burn soon if she didn't see to it, that the vampire was once again left to his own devices. There was a certain level of somberness to the vampire, at so discovering his lover's history of this holiday that Sebastian had a tendency to be so overly enthusiastic with and yet, such a feeling was quickly replaced with a determination to attempt to make up for all those years that his beloved had so gone without.

It was only once his shirt was buttoned and his hair tamed that the vampire stepped from his room, making his way through those familiar halls and down the stairs, his feet entirely quiet against the cold tile of the marble floor. He was hardly surprised in the fashion his lover so seemed to simply expect him, so addressing him without a single glance. The vampire remained as he was, his hands shoved in his pockets as he simply watched his companion trail a finger over those crystalline ornaments that so reflected the light from those multitude of tiny bulbs. A small frown was settled upon his features as he slowly nodded in response. "Despite all appearances, I am still the Baron of this house." He commented softly. It was perhaps the first time Sebastian acknowledged that beneath that show of being a family, his staff knew well their place when it was so required of them. He has worked hard to craft that relentless loyalty and adoration that now so flourished within each one of them. He hardly had to inquire after why his lover had so chosen to keep him in the dark on this very topic. Rather, the vampire's gaze meet those silver irises, his eyes hardly wavering as he listened in silence to the monarch's efforts to so explain his silence on this particular topic. A soft sigh left his lips as he shook his head ever so slightly. "Ma Bichette..." He uttered, stepping forward to gingerly allow the palm of his hand to brush against his lover's cheek in a glimpse of affection. "You are the only thing in my life worth all of my trouble, Dorian." He uttered softly, "I wish you would have told me." Though really, he supposed perhaps it wouldn't have made much of a difference even if he had known.

He reached up, his hand running momentarily through his hair at Dorian's admittance that he had never before ever received even the smallest of gifts on Christmas day. "I'm sorry Dorian." He started, vastly more aware now of the importance of that gift he had so teasingly denied the king. "I'm sorry for saying I got you a rock. I didn't, I promise. It's a real Christmas present. I'm not sure that you will like it but..." His voice trailed off after a moment. After all, as silly as it perhaps was, it was entirely within in his culture to so apologize for a gift before it was given, just in case the recipient was somehow displeased with it. Frankly, he hadn't the slightest notion of what the King might think of those meticulously wrapped presents but hopefully it was enough to make tonight just as special as it should have been. It was perhaps that in mind which saw his gaze turn momentarily towards the grandfather clock besides the mantelpiece. "We have a bit of time before mass....come, my love." He reached down to take the monarch's hand, leading him away from the tree and those gifts to instead move further into the house. It was his office that he led his lover to, opening the door to reveal those floor to ceiling bookcases reach filled to the brim. He dropped the King's hand, instead making his way to that oak desk to rummage through the drawers. It took several moments before he found what he was looking for, the objects had been shoved into the far back from disuse before he plucked one from the pile. He approached Dorian with the object in his hand, reaching out to present his lover with that small medallion. The background was made of onyx, jet black in color despite the years that had passed. On its face there were two lions made of gold, their eyes sparkling blue with tiny sapphires. Behind them rested his family's crest, complete with a small gold crown upon the top. The entire coin was fastened to a delicately linked gold chain. "I promised you one of these once." He uttered softly, glancing up at his lover at the sheer significance of that gift.
