Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Those very dreams and desires the young housekeeper held to better herself and one day immerse herself in the medical profession were perhaps lost upon the Monarch to an extent. After all, his experience with modern doctors was veritably non-existent, his experience with those from his own time having led the man to believe that they were a generally curious people whom were perhaps more akin to herbalists then medical experts. Still, Elizabeth seemed endlessly dutiful in her studies, the woman informing him it may well take her up to eight years to achieve such a goal. Dorian quite unable to fathom this sort of educational milestone and yet, even within his own time, doctors had held some skill with blood. Dorian quite having sought her out for that reason. His features drawn into that warm simper once more at the surprise that laced his lovers lyrics at the notion he had allowed anyone near him with a syringe at all. Dorian unable to suppress that chuckle.

"I will admit that I did not quite know how it worked until it was perhaps a little too late. I do not think I would be inclined to allow it very often. The things I do for you!"

The grin widened readily as those wholly teasing words fell from his lips. The Fae so unable to deny that in this case, in which he had so needed perhaps a little more blood then those usual small wounds provided, Elizabeth's methods had proven a little less messy. Still, he had thoroughly decided all the same that it was by far a process he was not inclined to repeat very often. It was that very notion of blood however, that had furthered prompted the man's thoughts. His mind, in its eternally curious state, had hardly failed to further consider that state of life he so encouraged from his companion and too- whether or not it removed that longing for blood from the vampire in any sense. After all, a living being hardly desired blood and yet- did Sebastian's vampiric nature still remain? There was, most assuredly, a plethora of question he truly desired to ask and yet for now at least the Monarch so fixated upon that one he was perhaps most curious off. His head tilted but slightly in an almost boyish gesture of inquisitiveness as Sebastian offered his own observations in this. How intriguing they were! Dorian quite inclined to consider several other theories upon the topic. The man entirely intrigued as to whether it was a relief, in any sense, to simply not feel hungry or indeed whether or not Sebastian now felt hungry for regular food instead. Did a state of living so bring with it those requirements of sustaining life in turn? Hunger for real food? Thirst for water? Could the vampire get tired from exercise now? His lovers comment upon a reduced ability to heal seeming to distract the Fae's thoughts a moment, his features frowning in some consideration.

"I should not like you to injure yourself then, do not do anything too...excitable today."

That teasing grin so danced upon his features again. Dorian readily meeting the man's lips in the sweet kiss, returning those equally sweet words that he so planned to offer him for the next hundred years or more in turn. His lover's inquiry as to whether or not he was looking forward to the beach so prompting the Monarch to shift his own position until he sat near within Sebastian's lap, drawing the vampire into a far more sensual kiss before assuring him he was. Such plans however, so required them to get up. Dorian entirely content to admire the entirety of his lover's physique when so afflicted by that life in those moments in which Sebastian was finally coaxed from bed. How becoming that life was upon him! It was only after that had dressed and his consort had assured him, in tones Dorian did not find wholly convincing, that he was ready that the pair so made their way downstairs. Dorian wholly aware of that nervousness that afflicted his lover, that ring upon his finger so betraying the vampire's heartbeat to him. He halted but once more at the door if only to allow Elizabeth to produce that bottle of sunscreen that Dorian handed dutifully to Sebastian in turn. The Monarch, it seemed, had taken to worrying over his companion today. A role so normally taken up by Sebastian and yet despite the vampires efforts to so assure him that he was entirely fine, Dorian had, surely, known the man far too long to so readily believe such a thing.

There was no part of this, after all, that was by any means anything less then surely terrifying for his companion. The sun, after all, was perhaps any vampire's most significant enemy. To convince the man to step into it so surely went against each and every survival mechanism he possessed. The enormity of this was hardly lost upon the Fae in any sense and yet, as Sebastian had so often done with him in several of those newer situations- Dorian merely strove not to allow the other man to long to dwell upon it lest those fears grow all the more insistent. The Monarch stepping out onto that doorstep, his silver gaze turned back with reassurance, his hand still fitted within his lovers own before the vampire so at least, tentatively, stepped into that sunlight. Dorian could hardly help the fashion in which that smile found his lips, his gaze brushing over his boyfriend now, assuring himself that life still radiated from him and his lover was entirely safe before leading the way to the car. Dorian sliding within first before shifting to allow Sebastian to join him.

"You did very well."

It was a simple, easy assurance. Dorian wholly aware of his lovers dislike of being fussed over too much. The Monarch so content to respect such a thing while so attempting to provide reassurance all the same. That brief walk in the sun so hopefully adding at least some confidence to the man as the car pulled away from the driveway, halting at those newly installed gates before slowly rolling out and onto the street. How readily even Dorian himself had forgotten what the world looked like during the day! The sheer amount of people whom dotted those sidewalks was vastly different from the night, the car so rolling past mothers with children and people walking dogs while others mowed lawns or gardened or hurried about in an effort to make the most of their lunch hour. It was the very sort of bustling daytime activity that was still something of a curiosity to the ancient Fae, his gaze turned from the window and back to his lover beside him. Curious as to whether or not Sebastian was at least enjoying those daytime sights that he had likely failed to see in rather a long time. Dorian scowling suddenly at the sight of a woman on a bicycle.

"Do you see that contraption, Mon Cher? That is the exact thing that ran me down on my first day here."

Bicycles, to this day, were perhaps the single thing the Monarch refused to even approach despite Samantha's coaxing. Sebastian, at least so far, having failed to make any effort to attempt to have him ride one. Dorian features remaining wholly disgruntled until the bike was out of sight and Charles had begun to pull the car up beside the footpath that ran alongside the sand. How glorious that beach was during the day! Dorian so unable to prevent the manner in which his gaze widened at the sight of that golden sand and near sparkling blue water. This, surely, just what Sebastian had desired he see all those months ago when he had so told him he need see that beach on a summer's day. The car door was opened but a moment later, Dorian sliding easily from the vehicle to stand upon the pathway, his own excitement in this surely palpable- the man content to pretend he could not see his security detail standing several feet away while so pretending (and failing) to be inconspicuous. How bright that glare was and yet for several moments Dorian was merely content to squint into that sun and so feel the pleasant warmth of it before at last pressing those sunglasses into place. This by far the most casual the Monarch had ever appeared in public in any sense, his gaze turned away from that beach with its sand and ocean and tourists to seek his lover once more. It was easy then, to so shift his power in a fashion that allowed the vampire to see those glowing lights that surrounded each and every being upon that beach and so shone from Sebastian himself- Dorian so silently reassuring the man once more that he was not nearly about to burst into flame today. The Fae merely waiting for the vampire to decide he was ready to join him outside and upon the footpath. Dorian ill inclined to press to firmly, the Fae assured he might have all the patience in the world for Sebastian alone. That warm simper upon his lips once more.

"Tell me Bastian, how long has it been since you went to the beach in the day?"

His own form moved to shift then, Dorian crouching down to remove his shoes, content to rest them upon the stone wall beside him, assured his security would hardly let anyone remove them before the Fae stepped forward almost tentatively towards that golden sand. He had surely felt sand before that night he and Sebastian had walked along the beach and yet he was entirely unprepared for the warmth that come from it in the day. His bare foot pulled hurriedly back in surprise and much to the amusement of several passers-by, Dorian taking several more attempts before finally resigning himself to standing within it.

"Bastian! You must try this, it is warm!"
