Hawethorn Village

Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

death incarnate & night triumphant

The meeting between Navi and the other men went just as he had suspected, the small woman hiding behind his much larger frame, peering around at them. As per usual, her greeting always took him slightly off guard; why the woman knew so many definitions when it came to names was beyond him. Yet, Navi was a strange girl, it was clear she had a difficult life, secluding herself from the modern world. She was so alike Dorian in many ways, perhaps those two could get along, Dorian might even help the girl transition to the modern world; at least better than Andras could. Watching Troy extend his hand towards Navi, he merely watches the exchange, acting as a barrier between the two men and the girl. As expected, she doesn't accept his hand. The Fae glances down at her, his brows furrowed slightly though he doesn't state anything, instead, those dark hazel eyes travel upwards again to the two faeries in front of him.

After introductions are complete, Andras gestures with a sweep of his hand towards the garage. Leading them into the cold interior, he can feel the confusion wafting off the three of them, his hazel eyes glancing over his shoulder as he explains as best as he can before the portal is open. As he suspected, the questions came pouring off of the three of them, Andras's hand folding behind him as he waits patiently for them to finish. "I can absolutely guarantee the safety of all passengers and I can move as many people as necessary, as far as I know, there is no limit as to how many I can move," he nods towards Troy, his eyes softening softly as he can see the concern etching in the man's eyes for Amelia. "For Amelia, I recommend not traveling often through the portal, it can cause some discomfort such as nausea and a bit of light headedness. You get used to it after a while but because of your situation, I suggest keeping transportation for Amelia to a minimum," he admits honestly. Andras had never transported a pregnant woman before, but he was confident in his abilities to keep her safe.

He's aware of Navi, rummaging through the shelves keeping to herself, though he can see curiosity bubble in her green eyes as she listens to him talk about different realms. His inspection on the girl is short lived before his attention is drawn to Dorian, worry beginning to gnaw in the pit of his stomach. The Monarch had not entirely considered Dorian's lack of etiquette on the modern world. His question has Andras hesitate briefly, attempting to describe it in a way that the King of Italy could understand, "It's similar to Matteo's ability but it's slightly different. Rather than traveling from here," he points to the ground where he's standing and then to the other side of the garage, "to there, we are traveling through a fold and into another world entirely. It's like a wall," he explains, frowning at his own explanation. He was certain he might have difficulties with Dorian if he couldn't explain it in a way that caused Dorian to feel safe.

Turning on a heel, he makes his way to the shelves, rummaging through it and the portal opens, a swirling black hole. His gaze turns towards the three, Troy taking a step back and Dorian reeling away from it. Wincing, he turns to Navi who seems to be the only one not worried that there was suddenly a black mass in the middle of the garage. The fear that so wafts from Dorian has Andras raising his hands as if the King were a wounded animal, "Dorian, this is what I was trying to explain to you," he says quietly, walking around the portal to stand in front of it. Navi's question suddenly draws his attention away from Dorian, a frown etching onto his features, "Technically yes, we aren't traveling through someone's dreams, we're merely going to another world," he explains to the young girl, noticing the curiosity that so adorns her face still. At least someone wasn't entirely afraid of the black mass before them.

Troy's next question has his hazel eyes turning on the man, Andras immediately shaking his head. "No, not from portals that I have tied to inanimate objects. It's physically impossible for that to happen. It's dangerous to create a portal without attaching it to something and its exhausting. I have a few portals attached to objects around the world that will lead to the lodge and I would never take any of you through a portal that I haven't scouted first," he assures the man quickly. He wouldn't lie to them about dimensional travel, it was indeed terrifying and far different than any other sort of magical ability. "As I mentioned before, the only side effects are very minimal, it's not dangerous if done properly. It has taken me centuries to perfect it and only then did I take someone through when I was entirely certain there was no danger," he nods to the man before glancing to the other two, Navi still inspecting the black mass.

The sternness that so leaves Dorian's lips has Andras whipping towards him, a touch of panic in his features as he regards to fellow Monarch. He absolutely needed to get the man through that portal, it was the only way to show him. How the Fae absolutely abhorred the way he had lied to the three of them; perhaps not lied, merely left out a rather important tidbit. "Dorian, please," Andras murmurs, his eyes holding a slight pleading look as he steps towards the man, "It is safe, I can assure you. I swear on my life," he states, taking another step towards the man. "Can you trust me with this?" he asks, not allowing to take on a matching tone with the King standing before him. What he didn't need was his ambassador to feel that he had been forced into a situation without his consent. If the man truly felt he could not step through that portal, he would let him walk away, Andras would merely try again down the road. Yet, the man wouldn't give up without trying first. He couldn't very well just tell the man the biggest secret of his immortal existence, he had to show him.
