Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
The young woman's gentle assurance that experimenting with those ties was a brilliant idea only further prompted that warm simper to the Monarch's lips. She was a decidedly sweet girl in every sense of the word. Dorian rather assured she had not understand the full implication off his meaning and yet the man so hardly saw any reason to further elaborate on those specifies when she seemed so distinctly pleased with the idea. Besides, he was mostly assured it could hardly hurt for one to learn of otherwise to genuinely tie a tie in turn. The Monarch himself having taken months to master that art no matter how many times Sebastian had shown him. The vampire having been required on several occasions more to repair those knots after his own efforts inevitably fell short. It was that very mention of a certain set of photographs that seemed to inspire the woman's ire a moment later. That pointed look she afforded her lover, or friend (Dorian quite undecided on what he truly thought they were) hardly missed in any sense. The Monarch striving to conceal his amusement in that momentary disagreement as Arlo attempted to near hurriedly repair that damage with the promise such photos had been 'cute' and that he had surely meant she was a part-time panda as opposed to one who ceased to be real. Dorian momentarily frowning in that consideration and yet he hardly chose to speak on it further. Abigail, for her part, seeming content with the answers as that conversation shifted to the idea of bands. A concept that was, largely, still very much a modern idea for the Fae King. After all, he was used to choirs, along with those orchestras and yet he hardly believed those were the sort of bands the group referred to now.
It was the very memory of that Youtube video Sebastian and himself had seen that so stirred to the forefront of his mind now, that aged footage of the vampire before him playing that guitar an image Dorian had hardly forgotten. Along with that peculiarly placed tattoo a certain part of the man found himself decidedly curious off. How unfortunate that it's location so surely meant he was unlikely to be allowed to inspect it. The Italian decidedly curious of art in any form it was presented even if he remained undecided about tattoos at large. Did Abigail know of it? Surely she did. Perhaps he might ask her just what it had been a tattoo off. Such thoughts were dismissed in that moment, Dorian allowing that warm simper to find his lips again at Arlo's assurance Sebastia was by far the best pianist he had ever heard. Dorian quite assured such a sentiment was nothing short of true. Even if Sebastian himself, sometimes, seemed unaware off his own level of talent. Sebastian's offer to host the ther vampire in their ballroom momentarily saw that look of surprise find his own features even as he offered that ready agreement Abigail had so suggested that the two should play together. It was decidedly...rare for Sebastian to willingly seek to company of his own kind. Truly Dorian could hardly recall Sebastian ever having a friend off his own over in any sense and yet the idea was somehow pleasing all the same. It was good that his lover had so found someone he enjoyed the company off. Even if Arlo was a little...obscure.
That sudden chiding of Sebastian's language brought that chuckle to his own lips once more, Dorian allowing both eyes to lift in a clear amusement at his lover so being told off for that singular cuss word offered in front of a lady but that query off his and Abigail's own musical inclination saw the man pause. Dorian assured his features near matched that look of horror upon Sebastian's own at this idea of a place without instruments. What a perfectly strange place! It was that shift of such attention to himself however that prompted the Monarch to sigh, Dorian near reluctant to speak off his own musical instrument. The man so long ago having mastered that Cornett and yet his relationship with the instrument was a decidedly tumultuous one if only for how.....fairy like it sounded and how consistently he had been teased over it. He had never desired to play it in any sense and yet Ferdinands insistence that all men should master one instrument had seen the man take it up- even when his siblings had been assigned far more suitable instruments. Dorian so hardly missing that clear look of surprise upon Sebastian's own features at his admittance, the Monarch's head nodded simply. Dorian regarding his lover then.
"Yes, really. As I said though I was never terribly skilled at it. It was merely an expectation of the time that I should have some skill in some instrument that might be deemed passable."
That, in some sense, was something of a lie. Dorian decidedly good at it and yet here and now the Monarch remained determined to brush it aside even if he was largely assured that, later in the evening, Sebastian was sure to query him further on it. The vampire moving to offer Arlo that explanation of it in turn. Dorian near surprised that Sebastian recognised that instrument, the man offering his lover that small smile then before gesturing toward that dining room as Abigail spoke of her homeland. He had never before heard of this town, let alone this 'Nepal' she spoke off and yet that mention of the Himalayas readily saw some measure of recognition find him. Dorian, in the least, aware of those mountain ranges from the books he had read on them. Although he did not truly recall cheese in any sense. His gaze glancing almost questioningly toward Sebastian then as if his lover might better understand this reference before his attention returned to Abigail.
"I have never seen this country, or a full-time Panda for that matter. I should like to see both very much, I think. Have you pictures off this village? Did your family.....make cheese?"
Perhaps they had been farmers of some sort? The woman hardly appearing to hold the look of such peasantry and yet any such thoughts were forgotten in that moment as Dorian lead the way into that dining room. The Fae largely oblivious to the effect of that splendour upon their guests and Abigail's simple delight in such finery. Arlo's sudden question upon the cutlery seeing Dorian's own features frown. Had the man truly no idea!? Where had he been raised? Perhaps Arlo was not....very old. Dorian never quite having asked Sebastian as to the age off his friend. The Monarch attempting to offer that simplified explanation all the same only for Arlo to announce he didn't even own three forks. Dorian's own eyes raising once more as Abigail sought fit to gasp. Dorian promptly deciding he rather liked the woman. She had such obvious taste. Even if she was a cheese farmer. Abigail affording that declaration of lacking cutlery an entirely appropriate response as far as he was concerned. The little woman near rounding on her lover then- and Sebastian in turn- as she near demanded they get Arlo forks before asking whether or not he had spoons or even plates. Dorian meeting Arlo's baffled gaze in that moment.
"Well, do you? I am not assured where Sebastian got ours but I am sure if you require assistance with the task that Bastian can show you where such things might be purchased. If you are ever to entertain guests I am assured they might appreciate it."
Arlo seemed near thankful in that moment for the manner in which Dorian so directed Abby to that chair. The Monarch content to leave Arlo and his lover to their own softly worded discussion then. Dorian rather hoping it was about cutlery. How lacking Abigail's suitor was! The Monarch moved to take his own seat across from the young woman then, his own glass of wine received with that polite nod as the silver hue of his gaze lingered further upon the girl. Abigail seeming almost curious of that wine. Perhaps she did not enjoy such flavours? Dorian so about to inquire if she might prefer something else before the woman promptly asked what it was. Dorian, for the uptenth time that evening, merely blinking in surprise. What sort of terribly place was this Nepal not to have instruments or wine!? Especially if it was so filled with cheese, a great accompanier of wine in every sense. The Italian so making a note never to visit this country.
"Darling, it is wine. Have you never tried wine before?"
He inquired gently. The man eyeing that glass with the ready consideration that, perhaps, if she was not used to such a drink then surely she should not have terribly much. The man so making that note to keep an eye upon it all the same before he found himself inquiring after those more potent questions off his mind. The woman assuring him she could see in colour as if such a question should have been near obvious before admitting the world was duller to her animal-eyes. How curious! Although too, perhaps how fortunate that she might still be able to distinguish colour all the same, Dorian attempting to imagine just what that world might look like before Abigail attempted to explain that need her body sometimes had to simply...be an animal. That inquisitiveness on his own features surely clear.
"The full moon? Why is it so the full moon is important?'
His knowledge of those Werespecies was decidedly limited. Even Raven, he was assured, had never mentioned such a thing and yet it was that very idea of Raven that so surely prompted that next question as he took another sip off his own wine.
"Do you belong to one of these...how you say....packs?"
Raven had mentioned such a thing a number of times. Dorian so having come to view it as a group of sorts that Were's seemed inclined to form even if he hardly understood that hierarchy within. It all seemed somewhat bizarre to him and yet that curiosity remained. Her admittance that it did indeed cause some sort of discomfort to shift was perhaps unsurprising when one considered it. After all a person was far larger than a panda, That change in size comparatively large. How utterly fascinating it was. His gaze glanced briefly toward Sebastian and Arlo, the pair appearing to be having some sort of animated discussion. Dorian chuckling softly again.
"I feel perhaps i should like to ask a different question. If you should not mind."
After all, such questions were always at the discretion of the lady. Dorian's head nodding almost subtly towards Arlo and Sebastian then.
"How is it so you and your companion were given to meet? You are quite suited to one another, if you shouldn't mind my saying."
That small smile found his lips again then. Dorian genuinely curious as to how a Panda and a vampire had come to form such a relationship, even if the Monarch remained unsure as to just what that relationship was exactly.
"I am quite pleased Bastian has a friend he enjoys so much as your Arlo. Vampires, I think, are not terribly inclined at making friends amongst one another. I think it's good for them though."
That soft chuckle rose within his throat then. Dorian grinning once more as Abby continued to enjoy that wine.
"Have you been dating Arlo very long?"
