Sacrosanct contains four distinct neighborhoods, each with their own specific kind of houses and residents. Explore our districts, view lists of our citizens and enjoy our block parties!
Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
He couldn't help the way he hungered for her like vegan hungers for their next great salad. He couldn't stop thinking about that night under the stars that it was just the two of them, no Townsend in sight. When he wasn't working with Townsend in the yard, he couldn't think of any better place to be than wherever she was. He always made sure to stop by the apartment first and get a shower and some clean clothes on, wanting to look like a presentable guest to her bistro so he didn't give the other customers the wrong idea. He even started wearing cologne on those nights, just enough for her to get a whiff when she would walk by to take his order and give him that sexy knowing look she only seemed to reserve for him. She was a vision to watch as she worked. She smiled at everyone, her bright personality bringing new life to the bistro. He was sure every single one of her customers had to feel that brightness deep within them. He could see the yearning in her gaze sometimes when she looked at him and he almost wanted to invite her over to sit with him but he knew she wanted a reputation in Sacrosanct and not the kind that puts her as a lazy owner or someone to sit around on the job while her employers were working their asses off. That's not who she was at all. She worked just as hard as them, if not, harder. He loved to see it in action. It just made him admire her that much more. It also made him that much hungrier for her. He always looked forward to those nights in her company after working all day. He almost felt ashamed of himself the nights that he was just too exhausted, knowing he wouldn't be able to give her that same attention she so deserved so instead of torturing himself by dragging himself to the bistro, he would just head home and collapse on the couch. He hated to think that he might be letting her down on those nights, but she never gave him any reason to think so. She always gave him that same sultry smile and those same glowing eyes that teased at him and made him think such dark thoughts every time he came in. He loved that they could say so many things with just a look that others might take hours to explain in the same breath. He couldn't understand just what he felt every time he saw her but he knew that it was strong and that he didn't want to fight it. He had finally talked himself into calling his mom a week or so ago and he couldn't get the joy in her voice out of his head. She was so thrilled just to know he was okay. It was like her mom radar told her he was in trouble and she had been worried sick that something had happened to him. He never told her about Doug or anything so it had to be her mom hunches. She always tended to know when he was in trouble. He assured her that he was okay, letting her know he had a steady job and he may have even said something about a special girl that had his mom practically squealing through the phone like a cheerleader. She then of course pried into every little detail she could get about Adelaide but he tried to be vague with his answers. He didn't want to get his mom's hopes up about him finding true love but he knew she'd be happier if she knew he had steady income and someone to keep him company. She always worried about his loner attitude. He felt a million times better after he hung up though. Her voice was like a balm for his wounds. Tonight was bound to be boring but he didn't mind a little boring every once in a while. He wasn't much for watching tv but it was just something to do while he cooked and ate then passed out for the night until a new day of garden work started. He wasn't expecting company but he would never say no to the beautiful woman who found herself on his door mat tonight. He opened the door and took a moment just to appreciate her in all her natural grace. He was well aware of her pride and he was sure that most of the men who graced her doorstep in Paris probably looked at her the same way but somehow he knew it'd be different for them. She already knew that he admired much more than her looks. That budding attraction from them was distracting all on its own without her showing up to his place at night with no Townsend in sight. That was bound to start the dark thoughts running through his mind. That sultry smile she gave him and that teasing sparkle in her eyes did nothing to lessen the flames suddenly licking at his insides as he took her in. She appraised him as well. He noted the lazy way her eyes traveled along his chest and torso before finding their way to his own eyes. She then stepped boldly toward him and he breathed her in like an oxygen deprived man, his eyes only darkening a little more before she spoke and his lips quirked in response. He heard the noise of something almost liquid sloshing as she did something behind her back but he kept his thoughts to himself, his eyes only twinkling as he stepped aside to let her in. Her hand reached up to caress his jaw and he found his eye lids drooping a little as he sighed in contentment at her touch, his eyes smoldering as she told him it wasn't a bad look for him. "Townsend might disagree." He murmured with a small smirk even as her hand trailed down his jaw before pulling away. He paused behind her as she looked over the apartment, almost holding his breath for fear of her finding some fault with the small space. Surely it was no better than a shed compared to the mansion she lived in. When he mentioned her not wanting to come, she spun on her heel and put a hand to her chest, her voice pretending to be wounded as she said that it hurt her that he would think that. He tilted his head, taking her in for a moment with that tug of his lips that said he knew all too well that she knew better. "I guess you proved me wrong." He shrugged, but his voice came out gravelly even as he continued to take her in. Then she was stepping closer and he felt the air getting thicker again. His mind seemed to get fuzzy every time she got so close as if he couldn't think straight with her smell in his nostrils. He didn't know how he managed to keep his hands at his sides when all he wanted to do was caress her arms, her sides, her beautiful neck. He couldn't get enough of her. Her skin was so soft that night and she fit against him so perfectly that it almost hurt to have her so close and yet not touching. Then she pulled the bottle from behind her so that it sat between their chests, telling him that she got a housewarming gift. His lips tugged into a warm smile as he looked down at the bottle then back up at her. "I hope you plan on helping me with that. I'd hate to think I have to drink it all by myself." He raised a brow teasingly at her as they continued to stand so close together. Then she asked if he had time to show her around and he boldly leaned in this time, his breath whispering against her ear as he whispered. "For you, I have all the time in the world." He smiled, his lips lightly brushing her ear lobe before he pulled back just enough to reach for the bottle of tequila, his hand enveloping hers for a moment as he smiled down at her. "Let me set this down and I'll grab us some glasses when we get done with the tour." Giving her hand a gentle squeeze, he went to put the bottle on the bar before he swept his hand around. "So this is the kitchen and dining area." He let her look around before moving over by the couch and loveseat where the tv was still playing on low volume. "This is the living room." He gave her a chance to take everything in before he curled his finger invitingly at her with a smirk and moved down a short hallway. "This is the hallway." He stopped at the first door on the left and opened it to show a small bathroom with a bathtub/shower and a sink and toilet. "This is the bathroom." He stepped aside in case she wanted to go in and look at anything before he moved on to the end of the hall and opened the door to reveal a decent sized closet on one wall and a small dresser. The other wall was mostly captivated by a king-sized bed and an end table. He stepped to the side again so she could go in if she wanted. "And last by not least, the place where I spend most of my time...the bedroom." He smirked, sure that she would know most nights he came in and collapsed on the bed, gone to the world till the next morning when his alarm clock went off. |
