Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
With each contraction, Amelia pushed. She listened to her body, moving in whatever way it told her to move and push when it told her to push. Would she have rather had drugs? Yes. She would much rather have a painless labor with an epidural but unfortunately, that was not an option. She couldn't risk being seen at the hospital. While they had rules not to disclose patient information, it was unlikely that her secret would stay in her medical chart. People would want to talk about her, to see her, to do a news story on her.
As Troy came back from calling the doctor, she leaned into his touch. His massaging of her back helped to take the edge off the pain, but damnit, it still hurt. As another contraction came, she cried out as her whole vagina began to burn. The baby was right there and she could feel it. She wasn't sure if Dr. Greene would make it.
She damn near ripped the underwear from her body, tossing it on the floor. "Help me onto the bed." Only with Troy's help did she manage to ease herself into the bed. "Come sit behind me...I want you to be a part of this." She wanted Troy to be able to be a part of his baby joining this cold, cruel world. She waited until he was in positon before she leaned back between his legs, taking comfort in feeling her back against his firm chest.
Beside her on the bed was a serious of towels and blankets to ensure that their baby arrived into this world and was able to be cleaned and kept warm. Reaching over, she grabbed one of the towels, placing it over her chest so when the baby was finally born, he or she could be dried off. And just as the towel was placed, another contraction came and Amelia was gripping Troy's knees as she pushed. The burning only grew and intensified. She wanted to scream and resist pushing because pushing hurt. But then again, she had read that if you push past the burn, the baby would be born.
Just as the head was partially out, Dr. Greene came into the room in a flurry. The butler saw quite a bit more of Amelia than he had ever wanted to see and the look on his face was nothing short of priceless. Fortunately, Amelia didn't care. "I arrived just in time. Amelia, try not to push so I can get some gloves on." She was quick to slip on a water-resistant gown and some sterile gloves. And just as she came to the bedside, another contraction came and Amelia pushed the head out. Hopefully Troy would not be too grossed out by the way the baby's head simply appeared. It was awe-inspiring to see just how such a large head fit through such a small hole. "Alright Amelia, one more big push and baby will be here. Reach down and grab your baby." Taking a big deep breath, Amelia did as she was told and in one big push, the rest of the baby was born. Already her hands had grasped the baby beneath the arms and as the baby slipped from her, she immediately pulled the baby to her chest. The baby was blue in color, but the second she hit the towel she began to scream. It was a joyous sound. Her small body began to pink up almost immediately as Dr. Greene and Amelia dried her off as best they could.
As soon as the baby was dried off, Dr. Greene cut the umbilical cord and placed the baby directly on Amelia's chest. She wrapped her arms around her baby and Dr. Greene covered them both with a blanket. She then went to see if Amelia tore, only to find out that if she had, she had already somehow managed to heal her own wounds.
Dr. Greene helped to clean up the bed, placing some potty-pad type things and some maxi pads beneath her to catch whatever blood there may be. Fortunately, it was as if Amelia's body didn't need to bleed at all. It seemed as though it was back to normal. So she finished cleaning up and then left the two to enjoy their new baby.
Exhausted, Amelia held onto her baby as she leaned against Troy's chest. Looking up at him, she kissed him softly. "We have a daughter." She hadn't been wanting one gender or the other â€" just a healthy baby. They seemed to have that together. And looking at the baby, Amelia had to believe that their baby looked more like Troy. "Thank you for being there for me." She smiled sweetly up at him, leaning up to kiss him softly.
