Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
There was something truly satisfying in so seeing that ring nestled upon his lovers finger once more. That very band, this time, holding even more meaning then it had the last time he had slipped it upon Sebastian's finger in those few days after it had been crafted specifically for the vampire. That gold was polished to near perfection specifically for today's very ceremony- and how glorious it truly looked! How satisfying it was, in a sense, to so permanently and officially confirm that...ownership of sorts over the man in turn. Dorian wholly assured such ideas were near archaic in nature and consideration and yet he could hardly prevent the manner in which they turned within his mind all the same. For all his genteel nature and polite being the Monarch was prone to that possessiveness of his lover. He liked the idea of the very world so knowing just exactly whom that vampire belonged to, that very ring upon then Englishman's finger that clear and visual display that he was thoroughly taken. Dorian so unable to deny that satisfaction that came from the finality of that very action and too- the significance of those vows he knew readily his fiance valued as much as he did in turn. They had, after all, both been born in a time when the sanctity of a marriage meant a truly great deal. Those vows not merely something to be said, but something to uphold in every sense. They were, this day, so truly uniting as one- despite what that future so might throw at them be it good or bad or everything in between. That promise of them, together, so made before God himself. Even if, perhaps, Dorian had so never held any doubts about them to begin with. He knew readily the importance of the assurance of those words to Sebastian all the same. Dorian himself was surely the more sentimental of the pair, the one perhaps more willing to display those emotions and yet, Sebastian was so often the one whom required that gentle reassurance every now and then. This, Dorian was sure, an act of the ultimate reassurance if ever there was one to be had.
He could hardly help that near overwhelming emotion that so threatened him in those moments that followed and Sebastian so reached to take his own hand. How often he so prided himself in his words, in knowing how best to speak with those around him and yet here and now it was as if he so hardly knew the words to describe what he felt in any sense. The right words simply did not exist- he was near certain of it. How on earth could he begin to describe just what Sebastian meant to him? The very man whom had so given his life purpose beyond measure. Sebastian had returned life to himself and his court as a whole. He had taught him how to live after so many centuries of merely existing. To say he merely loved the man seemed as if it were not enough somehow. That depth of emotion he felt for him utterly irrevocable even if neither of them were wholly prone to speaking of it aloud. Both knew it existed. Both surely saw it displayed in those little things they simply did for one another without thought and indeed perhaps that was the simple beauty of it all at once. He need not think about loving Sebastian. It was so simply his state of being. He did so without thought. Loving him as natural as breathing and how fortunate he was to find his soulmate in all the very expanse of the world. How gloriously fortunate. Those very realisations so prompting that wetness to his eyes he so refused to allow to be seen by another other save Sebastian himself. Those emotions in turn, so seeming to have reached the vampire all the same. Dorian quite unable to prevent that small simper that found his lips at the realisation that Sebastian's composure was perhaps equally under threat. That soft utterance to breath further prompting that warm grin before the Monarch did just that. That very breath readying him for those words.
His gaze flickered briefly downward to that ring as Sebastian returned it to his finger. The weight and feel off it thoroughly pleasing to the Fae before those silver eyes glanced upward to Sebastian once more, meeting the vampires gaze as he offered his own vows. Dorian near assured he felt his own heart flutter at those words before that distinct pause so readied the Monarch to speak in turn with Sebastian. Dorian having near memorized those very words over the past few days.
"With this ring I wed thee, with my body I worship thee, and with all my worldly goods I endow thee. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen."
That very silence seemed to rest over the church for but several seconds in the wake of that final vow. The Pope's head so nodding once more as he begun the reading of that final prayer and the blessing of that congregation at large before so returning his attention to Dorian and Sebastian once more. For as much as Dorian and Sebastian have consented together in holy matrimony and have witnessed the same before God and those present, and have pledged their faithfulness, each to the other, and have declared their love by giving and receiving Rings and by joining hands, I now, by the authority committed unto me by Holy God as his servant on earth, declare that Dorian and Sebastian are husband and husband according to the ordinance of God, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Those Whom God Has joined together, let no one put asunder. You may now kiss the groom. That, Dorian was assured, could not come quite soon enough. His gaze so readily returned to Sebastian then, the Monarch tilting his head ever so slightly upward to meet Sebastian's lips with his own- much to the delight of their guests. Those applause ringing out throughout that church for that simple, chaste kiss and yet, how decidedly wonderful it was all the same.
It was only once he had so finally stepped back from Sebastian that the Pope raised his hands once more in that silent request for silence again. "Friends and family, to conclude this ceremony, will the couple and designated witnesses please come forward and sign their names to the certificate of marriage." Dorian shifted easily then, his hand still nestled in Sebastian's own as they turned toward that small table set to the side, Giles and Alexander beside them to witness that very signing. That pen was settled neatly within his hand, Dorian smoothly affording that paper his signature before handing that pen to Sebastian in turn and stepping to the side once more to approach those three items set upon yet another small, silk-draped table beside that certificate. The Pope's hand easily cast over them then, applying that sprinkle of Holy Water as tradition so dictated and that hush once more fell over that crowd. Dorian so taking his lovers hand once more now to guide him to stand before those three objects that so represented the royalty of Italy itself. Dorian afforded his lovers had that final squeeze before stepping away to stand beside the Pope himself, that royal ring lifted from that table then and into Dorian's hands as His Holiness spoke.
Sebastian, Will you solemnly promise and swear to assist in the governing of the people of this, the country of Italy, and the dominions thereto belonging, according to the statutes in Parliament agreed on, and the laws and customs of the same? Dorian so waited for that traditional 'I will' before reaching to take his lovers right hand, this time sliding that royal ring into place. Sebastian offered that reassuring grin before Dorian turned back to that table once more, this time, taking that finely crafted sword made just for the vampire himself. That golden hilt polished to gleaming. The Pope speaking once more. "Will you to your power cause law and justice in mercy to be executed in all your judgements?" Once more, Dorian so waited for that utterance of 'I will' before stepping forward to offer his husband that sword. That weapon easily attached to the vampires belt to hang beside him just as Dorian's own did in turn. The Monarch pausing then to gently lift that crown from Sebastian's head and place it on the table. The Pope reaching for that official crown now, one far more ornate then its predecessor. "Will you to the utmost of your power maintain the laws of God, the true profession of the gospel Catholic religion established by law, and will you preserve unto the bishops and clergy of this Realm, and to the churches committed to their charge, all such rights and privileges as by law do or shall appertain unto them, or any of them?" That final 'I will' saw the Pope place that new crown upon the vampires head, Dorian so returned to Sebastian's side then to take his hand once more as they turned to face that congregation. His fingers entwined in his lovers own as the Pope spoke those final words.
"I now present to you His Royal Majesty King Dorian Valerio Ellington-Brownlow-Cust-Aragona and his husband, His Royal Highness Prince Sebastian Felix Ellington-Brownlow-Cust-Aragona."
His Royal Majesty
Dorian Aragona
The King of Italy
