Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

He wasn't sure what to expect from the girl who now lingered in his hallway, but the sharp acid-laced tones that she answered him with was certainly not what he thought would come about. The shock that Ian felt was openly painted on his face, chocolate eyes widening only briefly, clearly startled by her response. Brows furrowed in mild confusion he glanced around the house, hoping she'd follow his gaze and reconsider her current stance and lower her guard.

"I don't know, maybe you don't think good things happen to you?" He tried to shuck off the awkwardness, attempting to be encouraging. Still she followed him upstairs, but she asked an awful lot of questions, normally he would have bitten his tongue and fallen silent to avoid the current inquisition. But even he knew that would put her off further and he'd be left alone and in an even bigger heap of trouble, he might even have to apologise for whatever wrongs he'd done.

She made a fair deal of noise as she ascended, something he wasn't often used to, and his movements were generally hushed, his inbuilt feline grace seeing to that. But it was far from an issue in his mind. She seemed to be younger than he, but the moody storm grey eyes and her demeanor spoke of an age beyond her years, something that he lacked significantly. He answered her with a shrug, "It gets kinda lonely, and, it helps to have extra cash coming in, right?" His hands splayed outwards as he shrugged, an attempt at appearing more open and trustworthy hoping to encourage her as best as possible.

Leaning back against the wall, he kept out of her way â€" he had turned his nose up at this room as soon as he arrived, Ian's tastes were generally of a high quality, being used to the coddling of his parents. The uncertainty that had clouded his expression at first, lifted in an instant at her clearly positive reaction to the room. He shunted himself upright off the wall, using his shoulders to give the push. Ian grinned brightly watching her eagerly, waiting for the agreement from her. Edging closer he nodded eagerly at her sudden turn of heart, "Yeah! Honest, I don't ever use it."

Oozing marginally closer he watched her expectantly, trying to mentally persuade her to agree to stay. When she finally turned and all tension had fled from the room he beamed at her, barely listening to the offer she was presenting to him He thrust his hand out to shake again, "Whatever you can pay, it's cool." Her concern didn't go unnoticed, however, the wide grey eyes, the colour of smoke changed her appearance, where she had once seemed so much older, the vulnerable young woman was still there, just pushed out of sight. He chuckled at her following offer, not meaning to demean her but just as a show of friendship perhaps? "I'm not a big coffee drinker, but if there's cake, I'm yours."

Expectant again, he already started to the door â€" ready to help her unpack the bike and load her gear into the house. He'd already reached the stairs by the time he called over his shoulder. "So that's a yes, then? I'm Ian, by the way."
