Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
He had started to get worried when he didn't see any signs of life in the apartment. He didn't think Sterling would be at work tonight nor did he think he would be out and about. This was usually his night in, a night of chores. He tried to be here each week on this very same day because he still wanted to be a part of Sterling's life, even if he couldn't quite convince himself to live here full time just yet. However, with the recent blow up with Raven, he was already considering moving back in with Sterling. He wasn't sure he wanted to live with his pack. If Raven was so quick to judge him, what did the others think?
However, at Sterling's words, Henry's eyes brightened and a smile spread across his lips. "Haha, yeah, I did. I hope you don't mind a night in." Eyes followed Sterling as he came further into the room to help grab some of the groceries from his arms. As he leaned forward to press his lips to the corner of his cheek, Henry turned his head so he could give his lover a proper kiss, one that was perhaps way to full of enthusiasm and would sure cause suspicion if Sterling was paying attention. This shit with Raven had really upset him. He needed some time with Sterling just to try and center himself again.
He followed closely behind Sterling as he led the way into the kitchen and began to unpack the grocery bags on the counter. While he was busy with that task, Henry opened the fridge and pulled them both out a bottle of beer, popping off the caps with the bottle opening tied to the fridge door. At Sterling's words about not letting him cook the lamb shanks, he laughed. "Don't worry...I had hoped you would cook those. I might can manage the sides." Surely roasted vegetables weren't that hard to cook. Granted, the meal would be far better if Sterling cooked it all, but Henry wasn't about to just dump the task of dinner on his lover without helping.
At his question about the movie choice, he smiled. "It's called Love, Simon. It's a love story about a gay guy who's afraid to come out...and falls in love with another guy in the closet over the internet. I saw the preview on Youtube. Looked cute." He pulled the movie out of one of the bags and slipped into the living room to put it in the DVD player so it was ready to go when they got to sit down and watch it.
When he returned to the kitchen, he took a sip of his beer before he came to stand behind Sterling, pulling him into an embrace as his head rested lovingly on the man's shoulder. He kissed the crook of his neck softly, letting his lips linger there for a moment. He wanted to tell the man that about what he had scheduled for them on Monday â€" and yet, this didn't seem like the right time. When would it ever be the right time?
