Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

i dont wanna be your vessel anymore
Blake focused on his task, to prep dinner that had been intended for one but was now meant for two, dropping the pan on the counter next to a couple of pots. He chewed on the inside of his cheek before shrugging slightly as he completed his mental checklist; there should be plenty of food for the two of them if he raided his fridge on top of the grocery bags, maybe there was even some bread leftover from the other night's spaghetti. Blake emptied the bags, setting the scotch on the corner of his counter before stopping to stare at then moving it to the top center of his fridge. He could reach it without any difficulty but for anyone with possibly prying fingers, she had some climbing to do. He laid the New York strip out on the counter, patting it lightly before hopping over to the stove, wielding his pan before changing his mind and cracking the stove to pull out the cast iron pan in there. Now, with that on the stove top, he poured some oil in the pan, turning to his drink as he waited for it to preheat.

Blake's eyes wandered toward the hallway where the bathroom was, noting it had been some time since he heard anything from his guest. He thought about going back there to check on her but decided against it; worse came to past, she made off with a few junk items that he was going to get rid of anyway. He didn't really have any cash (that he knew of) in the house. He shrugged, unaware that she was going through his room, and returned to prepping their dinner. Take the steak, sprinkle heartily sea salt and pepper, dump into the pan then jerk arm back when/if oil pops up and burns him because it always does. Her voice pulled his attention from cooking, Blake glancing toward her before he flipped the steak.

"No worries, I can throw those in the wash if you want." He answered absently before realizing- Wait, she has to let her clothes dry so what is she...? His shirt, of course. What else would she be wearing? He stared at her for a moment, weighing whether or not to say anything, before he decided against it. At least she had something on. "Kid, I don't think you could handle that." He stated skeptically, nudging his glass further away from her. "Maybe after you eat something, I'll let you try it but I don't think you're going to like it. Before you argue, how do you like it cooked? Medium-rare? Rare? Medium? If you say done, I'm going to have to kick you out." He was joking, of course, he wouldn't kick her out, but he would probably just stop cooking it at medium, medium-done. He leaned over her, reaching for a few spices to add a little extra flavor. "Also, go grab the butter from the fridge, would you?" Hey, if she was going to hang out here with him, he was going to put her to work. "Oh, and there should be some salad crap in then. Pull it out and make yourself one. Plates by the sink are clean." Good thing he did dishes today otherwise he'd have to scrounge for something. Somehow eating out of tupperware just didn't seem the ideal method when he had company over.

He flipped their steaks over again, turning the burner off and setting the pan aside to let it soak in the butter and spices while he hunted for a knife. With a few cuts, he turned one 12 oz steak into two roughly 6 oz pieces on separate plates. With some salad and bread â€" it wasn't the french bread he thought he had, just a few slices of wheat from a sandwich loaf- they had themselves dinner. He set her plate on the island counter, Blake leaning on the side to her left. "I, uh, don't have a dining table right now. I may have sold it and never have gotten around to replacing it." He usually ate on the couch but why risk a mess?
