Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
His Royal Majesty
Dorian Ellington-Aragona
The King of Italy
What a perfectly funny sort of creature Raven was! Dorian quote unable to stifle that laugh that fell readily from his lips in the wake of the woman's clear confusion about just what a married couple might engage in within their honeymoon. Really, the Monarch found himself feeling near sorry for the woman and her new husband if Raven equated a day spent in bed to some sort of dreadful illness. She truly was as innocent as those maidens from days gone by. Ah, how he missed such a thing sometimes. That near audible gasp from the woman as he explained just what he had meant with his earlier jest did little to quell the amusement that danced upon his features. Particularly so as Raven near stammered and stuttered out her insistence it was surely inappropriate to ask her such things. Dorian allowed that chuckle to hum within his chest once more, his head shaking slightly at the poor, embarrassed woman in front of him as her cheeks flushed a near vibrant red. Dorian speaking gently then and with no lack of sincerity even despite that amusement that lingered all the same.
"Raven, I am not asking for any sort of detail. You didn't understand the jest of sorts I made, so I explained it, that is all. I do not desire any sorts of details as to what your husband and yourself engage in. Although, frankly, you should have conversations about such things with your husband- and frequently. It makes things far better."
Sebastian and himself, after all, frequently discussed what they liked or what they wanted or what they might like to try. Dorian entiery assured such conversations were nothing short of healthy for any relationship, let alone any marriage. Creativity in intimacy, he was sure, was very near key to only furthering that veritable enjoyment that came from such activities. Perhaps Raven and her husband were simply not so....modern as Sebastian and himself in just what they might be willing to try and yet- each to their own. Dorian wholly content not to press Raven any further on the matter lest her very features catch aflame from the heat that seemed to flush them! That uncertainty, it seemed, continued to grip the young woman all the same. Raven so struggling to meet his gaze then as she so shyly admitted Tobias and she had surely enjoyed one another's...company in the intimate sense before insisting they had done a number of other things outside the bedroom in turn. The young woman appearing very near fearful she had somehow managed to have a honeymoon incorrectly. Her very concern prompting that final soft chuckle to Dorian's lips as his head simply shook again. That warm simper finding his lips all the same.
"Your honeymoon is yours to have as you see fit. As long as you enjoyed I do not think there are any rules."
He offered that assurance simply then, allowing that conversation to shift towards those paparazzi that were eternally swarming about his and Sebastian's front gates in some hope some great scandal might yet occur that they could be the first to photograph else report on. The crowd had, thankfully, died down in the wake of their wedding so finally having occurred and yet on any given day that handful of photographers and reporters lingered all the same. That number very near seeming to double if Sebastian or himself dared attempted to leave their home even for the most mundane of tasks. Charles having so had to take up walking the dogs if only because the press made such a task near impossible for Sebastian and himself. Raven's ready offer to chase those people away in her animal form so prompted that raise of his eyes in surprise. Such a thing would no doubt prove effective and yet he very much doubted the media, nor his government, would take any pleasure in his so being surrounded or exposed to what they believed to be wild beasts. His efforts to explain the media's (rather unfortunate) right to stand where they pleased so evidently not what Raven had meant. His companion querying why he could not just demand of his government to stay in any place he desired- wild animals or otherwise.
"I fear it does not work as such. My government cannot physically force myself or Sebastian to do anything, you are right, but politics is not so simple as that. I require the support of the parliament and the people in all I do. For my to go agianst what my parliament voted on would be a politically...significant move with a great deal of fallout. One that would cause great disruption within my government. I cannot do as I please without consequence unfortunately."
How much more complex it was then that! Yet, he suspected, it would take much of the evening to attempt to explain to Raven the complexities of his government and his place within it. Far longer, perhaps, then they surely had and Raven surely cared to listen for. How very easy things would be if he merely could do just as he pleased every time! Dorian reached easily for that shortbread biscuit then, the Monarch contentedly slipping it between his lips before commenting upon that tea set he and Sebastian had gifted Tobias and Raven on their wedding day. Raven, it appeared, holding grave concerns for its safety. Concerns Dorian was all to content to brush aside with his stubborn refusal to take back that gift. The threat of sending her another one, at last, seeming to force her to relent.
"Good."
He offered warmly. Another simper flashed towards her as he reached for his tea cup then before reclining further back within his chair. Dorian wholly content to consider tea sets then before Raven's sudden declaration that Matteo had appeared in her kitchen saw him abruptly pause. His silver gaze cut sharply up toward Raven then. Why on earth would Matteo appear in Raven's kitchen? Surely if he had come to see Aiden he would, well, appear to Aiden? Why on earth would he bother Raven? Let alone to speak with her. Dorian wholly content in that moment ao allow his gaze to narrow near warily. Matteo did nothing without cause and nothing without reason. For a man whom so often pretended as if the world did not bother him and those things that occured around him were little more than chance he seemed to find himself, so coincidentally, involved in near all of them. Matteo a far, far, far more cunning creature then he allowed the world to believe. Dorian was assured of it. In the very least the other Fae so hardly ever meant any harm....mostly. Yet truly he had such a knack for distressing people! Dorian finding himself near nervous of just what he so might have told Raven. The young woman promptly informing him Matteo had told her she so stood to be a Mother- twice over. Before abruptly disappearing. Dorian readily huffing at those very words. A scowl of sorts finding its way to his features and yet he was quick to dismiss it lest he worry Raven all the more. Children, after all, were quite the blessing!
"I fear he is always like that. With everyone. He seems to take eternal amusement in it. Frankly he annoys me when he does it but if I tell him it annoys me he will do it all the more."
Dorian shook his head lightly, as if to dismiss such thoughts. His silver gaze finding Raven's own once more.
"He knows such things because he is a, how you say, seer? He sees the future before it happens."
He paused once more, allowing Raven to consider those very words before that smile found his lips all the same.
"Children though are a terribly exciting thing! Are you not excited? I think children are a lovely blessing. Did he tell you when you might be expecting them?"
