Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
Of course, Amelia had chosen the red dress because it accentuated what curves she did have. It clung to her widened hips, a testament that she had given birth before. Beneath the dress she wore a black lace push up bra, making the girls look extra pleasing tonight. While the look didn't jump out and say "fuck me", it definitely let Troy know that if he was a good boy tonight...perhaps there might be something in it for him.
At his wolf-whistle, she smiled at him as she walked towards her vanity. "Settle down, Troy. I don't have time to redo my hair and makeup." While they had a tendency to get distracted with one another, tonight was not the night. If their guests were on time, they would be coming in hot as it was. There was no time for even a quickie. Later.
But then he was suggesting that they stall another hour or so, plenty of time to lose themselves within one another and still leave time to get ready again. "No, they are probably already on their way. Call it delayed gratification. You can have me all to yourself the second they leave." She winked suggestively at him as she continued to put in her earrings and her necklace.
However, knowing that Tenley was safe and happy with the baby sitter was enough to make her feel a little bit better. While she wanted Tenley to be able to meet her uncle, she wasn't sure the child was quite ready to be in a room full of fairies. While Amelia and Troy had done well training the little girl to curb her blood thirst, she was still a child. Having her at Vicki's was he smartest move, even if she hated it.
As his hands rested on her shoulders, she sighed. There was so much tension that Amelia was quite surprised she didn't looked like a wound up Jack-in-the-box just ready to spring. "I'm just worried and nervous. What if they don't approve of me because of who I am?" While Amelia had never really been a self-conscious person, she felt every bit of it today. Perhaps she just wanted her new family to like her and not judge her for a choice that wasn't her own. Becoming a vampire had not been her life's plan, but she was learning to love and accept that part of herself. It didn't define her, per say, but it was a huge part of who she was. She only hoped she could show Kit and Sam that she wasn't just a blood-thirsty creature.
Once she was sure that she looked her best, she stood from the vanity and turned, wrapping her arms around Troy. She kissed him softly before slowly pulling away. "Alright, I'm ready. Let's go downstairs." She took his hand in hers almost nervously as she walked alongside him as they descended the staircase.
At just that precise moment, the doorbell rang and Amelia sucked in a breath. She tried to calm the nerves that coursed through her veins and eventually, was able to look a little more relaxed. Gracefully, she crossed the foyer to the door and slowly opened it to reveal the two standing just outside. "Good evening, welcome." Stepping out of the way, she swung the door opened and motioned for the two of them to step inside. Once inside, she closed the door quietly behind them. "Come, let's go into the drawing room for cocktails. Miss Cassidy..." It sounded so formal on her tongue, but she didn't feel it appropriate to call her by her first name or nickname until she was given the okay. "I have some mocktail options for you if you prefer." She smiled sweetly before leading the gathering into the room. Moving towards the overstocked bar, she stepped around and began to prepare to mix some drinks. "What will it be?"
