Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
Though Edie had pretended to think about it, there was really no questioning that she would choose to accept the man's offer. It was a generous one, though not one that Edie could agree to easily. Swearing your loyalty to someone was not something to take lightly. Despite that, Edie couldn't deny that she would have likely joined his pack under lesser turns. Her threat to run to the Nightshade pack being entirely empty. Frost was too amusing, too like herself, to merely run from. It was that that had caused her to thrust her hand out to agree to the terms of the deal. As she pressed a kiss to his cheek, she could practically feel a string begin to stretch between herself and the other members of her new pack. For a moment, she closed her eyes and merely appreciated the pull. It had been far too long since she'd felt the association of pack, and she'd missed it without even realizing it. Pack was family, perhaps more so than blood, and while Edie had been ambitious in wanting to find power, there was still part of her that needed that. After all, the young fox had been living alone in a tent for months now, and it was nice to feel the pull towards something.
Despite the surprise that she'd felt at his offer to return home to him, she managed to recover herself quickly. Like becoming his Beta, it was an offer that she couldn't refuse. She hadn't lived with her pack before, though they'd lived close, but she found the offer now being entirely enticing. As she voiced her question to him, she found herself relieved when his lip quirked up as he shrugged. She let out a soft laugh at his response, quickly moving to take his offered arm as he led her back the way they'd come. Edie remained silent as they walked, instead focusing on the route that they took towards her new home. After all, it would be important for her to know where to call home now, and she'd already made up her mind that she wouldn't put herself in his debt by asking for directions, ever. The walk was hardly a long one â€" rather convenient, really â€" and Edie found herself enjoying the man's presence despite their prolonged silence.
The house that he finally points out to her causes another moment of surprise within the young girl. She'd expected a house, yes, but the building that he'd pointed to was far larger than she'd expected. Still, outwardly Edie only gave a small quirk of her lip. "It'll do, I suppose," She said nonchalantly as she allowed the man to lead her inside. The newly formed pack bond sang out to her, welcoming to the territory she was now allowed to call her own.
Frost's words caused the girl to offer up only a nod in response. "Thoughtful," She commented lightly. She'd be sure to add articles of her own clothing to the stash. "Though, don't you want me to be running around naked?" Her voice was light and teasing as she spoke, a smirk forming on her features. "I promise you, it's remarkably nice when I do." Still, despite her teasing, Edie is all too aware of the business-like manner of the man in front of her, and she managed to fall in step beside him as he led her forward and into the main area of the home. The lounge looked cozy enough, and Edie's gaze went to rake on the shelves full of books. She'd surely be curled up in the lounge enjoying books soon enough, just as it seemed another member of her pack had done. "It looks cozy," She said in response to his words. "Do you spend a lot of time down here, too?"
Unfortunately for the girl, he hardly gave her time to appreciate the lounge before she was being led on towards the kitchen and the apparent bedrooms. Without hesitation, she followed him up the stairs, barely hearing his words as she looked around. Being that it had been so long without being in a home, she found that she was slightly overwhelmed by the building she'd now get to call home. There were certainly worse offers she could have taken. "So I suppose I do get my own room," Edie said teasingly as her gaze snapped back to attention as their tour came to a halt. Calliel and Claire's names stuck in her mind, causing the woman to make note of the women that she'd soon be spending time with. As her Alpha had indicated, she knew that getting to know the girls would be crucial for her success in the pack. As soon as she got settled in, she'd be sure to bond with them.
"I look forward to meeting them," Edie said with a nod, offering her companion an easy nod as he leaned back against the railing. Though she didn't voice it, she was thankful for the few moments of silence he offered her to adjust to the information that she'd been given. "Interesting that you have all women. Is that by choice, or merely a coincidence?" She asked. She found herself remarkably interested in the other women she'd be living with â€" in fact, the desire for them to like her was awfully strong in the young woman, though she'd not dare voice that. She hoped they liked her, though she supposed that as Frost's appointed Beta, it hardly mattered if they liked her, as long as they respected her. Still, she saw no need for any hostility, instead hoping for a stronger pack bond.
Edie found that she had a lot of questions, though none that she was truly wanting to vocalize at the moment. She wondered the species of the girls, of her Alpha, though that would mean vocalizing her own species. She'd rather wait until the perfect moment to reveal herself. Edie was certainly useful, though her Were form tended to allude to her being a liability rather than an asset. Other than that, her mind was entirely blank as he stared at her to wonder if she had anything she would ask. She supposed there was nothing she wouldn't learn in time, though there was one thing she supposed was worth asking.
"I'll need clothes," Edie said simply, refusing to ask for the items. Rather, she would just demand it. She hardly wanted to put herself in his debt. "As your Beta, I doubt you want me to walk around in the shabby clothes I brought from England, do you?" She held her hand out, giving him a small smirk. "The money you got from our adventure today should help me out with that. It's only fair, don't you think?"
Content to let it drop at that, she leaned against the wall opposite him, her arms crossing across her chest as she eyed him. She'd expected as much. There were certainly aspects of their pack relationship that she'd need to know, and Edie was more than happy to oblige him by listening. "Would you like to speak here, or shall we find somewhere to sit?" She was more than happy to get the listening part of their deal up, and then perhaps entice him into spending some time with her while she settled in.
