She had her first real job! It was like she was a real adult now! This, she was assured, was the true student experience! She could totally juggle her college life and this new little gig. Her father would be so proud! Well, he would be once she told him....whenever he decided to call next from where ever he was overseas. First, she just had to survive her first real day of work. Frankly, despite all of that excitement she held, a part of Abigail was still terribly nervous. After all, she'd never been a waitress before but....it seemed easy enough, right? She just had to remember everyone's orders and bring them things, and smile. Adelaide had said smiling was most important. She totally had the smiling thing down. The young woman leaned closer toward that mirror, poking her cheeks as if to make sure she was truly ready to have the best possible day she could. After all, though today was super thrilling for her, it was also equally as big of a day for her new employer and newest friend. After all, it was GRAND OPENING DAY! Yayyyy! Speaking of, she was going to be so late if she didn't leave like....right now!!
Abigail quite near ran out of her quaint little home outside of the Southern park, her cheeks turned a flushed shade of red at the icy nip of the cold air. She was hardly perturbed by this, however, as she rushed down those sidewalks towards the beach. She'd never actually visited the bistro she'd agreed to work with, much less the Southern shore to begin with. Admittedly, Abigail had explored far more of those Western borders then her own home neighborhood. She hardly expected, as she rounded the corner, the large expanse of blue ahead of her, the sheer sight of that ocean caused her to stop abruptly in her tracks. Her mouth parted in awe of the rushing waves, falling on top of each other with an almost soothing crashing melody. She'd never before seen so much water in one place! It was....beautiful! Abigail's gait slowed as she continued down that sidewalk towards the ocean shore and, inevitably, the bistro itself. She could hardly help the fashion her own mind wandered to her best friend, the man so often on her mind. Had Arlo ever seen the beach before? Had he been here? Would he like it? Maybe she would ask him next time he saw him. At the very least, it was something to muse on as the young woman turned the corner and made her way into that very bistro.
She stepped into her new place of employment just on the tail end of a strange man's conversation with Adelaide. Her own hazel eyes swept over the interior of that small store as she slid that winter jacket off of her shoulders. The young woman followed the suit of the man before her, placing her own jacket on that coat rack, entirely content to wait patiently before she intruded on that conversation. "Good afternoon!" Abigail announced to the small party, entirely ecstatic in her greeting. Of the three people present, it was her employer only that Abigail knew, her eyes widened at the sight of that lovely dress. "Adelaide! You look beautiful!" She spoke with a hint of awe. The young woman looked so poised and sophisticated in that green hued dress, that gown one she certainly couldn't pull off. It was only once she was sure that Adelaide had been properly complimented did her did her attention turn towards her two newest coworkers. "Hiya, I'm Abigail! Or Abby, if you want." The girl continued on, entirely delighted to meet those potential newest friends.
