Despite his run-in with the vampire mayor, Erik never gave up his search for the Dark Hunter he'd been tracking. He went back to the club later and found her scent again, easily tracking her down to a rundown motel. Unfortunately, when he searched the room, he found nothing of interest. The place already looked ransacked and the Hunter's stuff was gone. She must have known she was being trailed and she fled. So now he was back to square one. Judging by the scent trail that ended out front, the Hunter got in a vehicle and left. Could she have left town? Erik sincerely hoped now. He wanted to end this once and for all and she was the missing link. He would get vengeance for Maria. Until then, he headed back to find thehuman who brought her the supplies. He worked as a bartender in one of the clubs downtown so Erik started keeping tabs on him, sure that she was going to contact him again. He'd gotten her supplies before so if she had to pack up and find another spot, she was going to need more supplies soon. It was a slim chance and she might have other people besides him to do her beck and call, but it was the only lead he had so far. He watched from the pack bench as the guy walked out back to throw another trash bag into the dumpster behind the club, sighing as he pretended to read the paper. Hopefully a break would come soon. Something had to give. |
