East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

I'm not entirely sure I've ever met someone so glad to be my friend. Most women I meet aren't exactly interested in friendship, or at least, they are after something more along with it and yet I can't exactly say I've discouraged them in any sense. I always have been more of a one night kinda guy. There was something about Chizue though that was, well, innocent I suppose and I always could do with more friends, especially with Kat still away and my nightly activities reduced to staring at the walls of my apartment or strolling for hours around the city pretending I had somewhere to go. I could always do work I suppose and yet work never really appealed to me in any sense. It's the whole....working part of it that seems to disagree with me. Honestly it's a miracle I have any investors at all. I'm entirely sure I sense resentment on the part of some of my CEO's and yet how is it my fault if maybe I am little late sometimes or maybe I can't find my own office or I have to keep hiring new secretaries because I keep sleeping with them? Not that I've done that in awhile, not since Kat. Maybe relationships aren't exactly might strongest skill but I understand how they work well enough not to fuck it up entirely. After all, since I met her, well, other women stopped being nearly as appealing as they had once been. The only downside to that was that when she was away, for this long, I was left with rather little to do. Maybe if I wasn't such an appalling Hunter the Council might have something for me to do and yet talking to Azrael is like poking a bear. That man needs to relax, in the least he needs to get laid. I am entirely sure that is half of his problem. Not that he took it particularly well when I told him the last time. My attention drawn from my own inner thoughts at that beaming grin and delighted words my newfound companion offered.

"Sure, I'll be here."

Where else was I going to go? Besides, I like her. What on earth she thought my ability to manipulate cards might be useful for outside of, well, cheating at poker though I hardly know, my own features frowning slightly in contemplation before I simply agreed to go with her. How bad could it be? If she wasn't the sort of vampire that fed on blood I hardly had to worry about her attacking me right? Realistically I suppose I should have been a lot more careful and yet honestly she may be the only vampire I've ever met that I might even have a chance of taking on if I had too. Besides I...trusted her I suppose. She was polite and friendly and sweet and if she murdered me well- guess it was my own fault. Although truly I'd always hoped to go out with a little more dramatic flare. My head shook softly, dismissing her concern over this shop all the same.

"Don't worry about it, I'm interested to see it all the same."

I offered the softest of grins before moving to finish my meal, her mention of a band or singing or whatever it was she did seeing the blue gold of my gaze meet her own with curiosity once more. Honestly I'd hardly have cared if she didn't do anything at all or had, metaphorically, nothing to bring to this newfound friendship. After all fast cars and a plane only had so much use as well and yet her singing brought a simper to my lips all the same before I asked after exactly what she did. She didn't strike me as the type of girl to be in a band, well....maybe a classical orchestra. Jpop? I'd never heard of that, or at least, not by that name, my own head tilting slightly, one eye lifted in a momentary confusion.

"I'm not entirely sure what jpop is, sorry about the band though. I'm still waiting for the vast majority of people at my office to work out I haven't aged a day in the past few years. Someone will notice eventually. One of immortality's less than ideal side effects I suppose."

Myabe I hadn't been kicked out of a band but I still understood. Being immortal has its own set of problems all the same. More so when you can't even go out into the sun. I nodded easily as she asked if I was finished, moving to slide easily from my stool and onto my feet once more, pushing back that dark gold hair from my gaze before meeting her own again.

"Guess you better show me this shop then."
