The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

With one hundred floors and a 125-foot spire, the Starlight Tower rises high above the Sacrosanct skyline. More than just a landmark, the Starlight Tower offers a unique mix of restaurants, shops, and offices spaced throughout the building. Organized into nine verticle zones, each of which features a sky lobby and a light-filled garden atrium which merge the upscale interior with a faux landscaped exterior setting.
A momentary grin of relief seemed to linger upon his features, head nodding as the curly-haired woman seemed to grasp what it was he desired as he continued to point towards the inside of the building he was evidently determined to enter, her hand moving to grasp his own before proceeding to lead him inside. It had been years since he had been within any sort of café or restaurant, the onslaught of scents and sights so readily distracting him, so much so he remains near oblivious to the change within Birdie and the manner with which she seems to grow slightly insecure perhaps, in the presence of any men, the boy so unaware how close she often lingered to pressing her own panic button. He moves to stand beside his curly-haired companion as she stops in front of the front desk, dark eyes flicking towards the hostess. The glare he is offered is readily returned, his own features darkening in response to the look the serving woman offers him, the animalistic creature rapidly perceiving a threat within her as his own agitation begins to rile. It is fortunate, perhaps, that Birdie moves to stand between them, breaking his line of sight with the woman, forcing him to look away from her as Birdie speaks, assuring her of his behaviour before he is pulled after her once more, her hand still held firmly against his own, Tobias momentarily given to appreciate the warmth within it as he trails behind Birdie and towards the table in the corner.
Dark eyes narrow slightly once more, flicking from table to table, rapidly attempting to perceive this new environment as he moves to mimic Birdie and seat himself. He is a curious creature by nature and as such finds ready interest in this new environment, watching waitresses and patrons alike as dark eyes flicker from one to the other. He does not perceive the situation, at least, not entirely, unable to understand how or why the food arrives as it does, the boy remaining curious and yet wary all the same. Some part of him understands perhaps that he is not as others, that he is somehow different from those around him as he moves to mimic Birdie's posture in a further effort to simply be as those around him, a final effort to simply...blend in to a certain extent. He knows he is not as others, that he is somehow different and yet indeed he seems to relish Birdie's attempts to pretend as if this is not case. He likes the way in which she speaks, likes her calm tone and gentle words, mind responding so very readily to such a thing, understanding far more than those words which are shouted or demand as so many people seem to do. The sudden menu placed before him seems to result in a look of wonderment all the same, dark eyes drawn wide on awe as he moves to stare at the marked piece of paper, inability to read assuring he does little more then blink in confusion, turning once more to observe those around him as if seeking some form of guidance as to what to do with the laminated piece of paper before that curious gaze is turned onto Birdie once more, watching her beneath lashings of wild hair.
"I...cannot....read."
There is some sense of frustration within the words, tongue brushing across his lips as if such an admittance holds great distaste, the barest hint of insecurity tracing his features before a huff or sorts is released, the menu very near thrown at Birdie's head as he folds his arms across his chest. It is hardly her he is frustrated with, more so he is agitated with himself, a lack of any knowledge on how to handle such feelings resulting in this momentary outburst as he gestures to the menu once more.
"You...make it...work."
He is entirely sure the piece of paper is supposed to do something and as such demands that Birdie make it happen, oblivious to the woman's eyes trailing against the red and marked flesh of his neck. Unlike Tetradore he is hardly used to having anything about his neck, the leather a frequent irritation that sees him fuss and scratch to no end, resulting in the lines of his nails against his skin. Her words momentarily seize his attention regarding her as he moves to snatch a napkin dispenser from the table, long fingers beginning to pluck napkin after napkin from the silver box, a grin of amusement lacing his features as he does, snickering in delight as he begins to cover the table much to the disdain of several waiting staff.
"You stop it...being....scratchy?"
He pauses in his restaurant vandalism only long enough to reach for several packets of sugar, evidently content to rip each one open, pouring the contents out and onto the table before cautiously dipping one finger into the white crystals and bringing it to his lips, the sudden sweet sensation seeing a beaming grin touch his features before he hurriedly reaches for the rest of them, biting into it, paper and all, delighting in the taste of pure sugar as a waitress returns, one eye lifting in mild disdain at the boys antics before she looks critically towards Raven. Have you decided? She pauses now, continuing to eye Tobias with disdain, paused to take their orders as Tobias continues to eat the entire sugar packet, paper and all.
