East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

... dying to live... living to die...

Slender fingers wrapped themselves around the warm cup. Bright brown eyes looked out through the window, watching as people walked past the cafe. She giggled to herself as she watched a man and his son walk by; his son jumping in a puddle on the side of the road, splashing dark water over the bottoms of his father's slacks. A sigh ran up past her lips as she lifted the cup to them. Drinking down the warm liquid she looked back to the newspaper laid down on the table in front of her. She'd just transferred her job here; the office building she'd worked for had opened a new venue in Sacro, she started in about a week there. It wasn't a bad gig; they paid all her moving expenses, set her up in a nice townhouse, paid her way more than they should and gave her a company credit card. Of course it never hurt when your father was the owner of the company and that explained why she was so well taken care of by them.

She hadn't been here long at all; just moving into her townhouse in Hawethorn Village yesterday. The movers did have everything set up pretty quickly for her and now she was left with a little extra time on her hands to explore the new city. She was impressed that she'd managed to find this cafe; it was well hidden. She'd pondered how they were able to stay in business, but the owners here must have several expensive hobbies; just telling from the decor of the establishment. Brown eyes scanned around the room, the walls and shelves were lined with many exotic pieces. She did enjoy looking around at all the oddities and knick-knacks. The shop owner must travel a lot or have connections; that's at least what she decided about him or her.

She shook her head before taking another satisfying sip of her latte. She should be far more concerned with herself; not an eccentric coffee shop owner. Her eyes moved back down to the newspaper. She flipped the pages, working her way towards the comics; that was always the best part of the paper. A small grin appeared on her lips as she read through them. She debated doing the sudoku puzzle at the bottom of the page; instead she picked her phone up off the table. Flipping through it she checked her messages first, another sigh exited her lungs. She pulled up her internet browser, searching for a gym nearby and several other points of interest to her.

Downing the last bit of her latte she rose from her chair, turned her head and said a quick goodbye to the barista and left the beautifully unusual building. The sun was already bright this morning, she pulled the shades from her shirt and placed them on, covering her eyes. She wore a simple white tank top and dark dyed jeans. Sacro was an interesting place from what she'd seen so far. The architecture through the entire city was victorian and old in its roots; it really was a beautiful and unique city. She looked in at the shops as she walked by, window shopping had always been a favorite pastime for her. She came to a halt looking in at a gorgeous dress, full legnth with a train and black with sequins adorning it. She pushed on, making a mental note to stop into that botique on her next venture downtown. She kept a fluid pace as she walked gracefully down the sidewalk; her eyes paying more attention to the windows than anything else.
