East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Taliah was entirely aware of the way the man seems to so hesitate in accepting that muffin from her. Others might have simply dropped it and not pressure him into eating and yet, the woman hardly care that she was pushing food into him whether he wanted it or not. Still, she holds it out in front of her until he finally takes it, a sort of satisfaction briefly traveling through those green eyes of hers. She's careful to watch his reaction as he nibbles on it, fully expecting him to make some sort of face. Surprisingly, he doesn't, it he simply hides it well. Satisfied, she glances away impassively as he finishes that muffin in hand, whether it was manners or not that prompted him to finish the baked good, Taliah wasn't sure. Truly, the woman only caring that he had eaten the pastry. After he's good and finished, the woman hardly misses the way he wrinkles his nose in distaste, surprised the man didn't complain, instead, he puts his order in, managing to wipe out the entirety of her cookie stock.

Surprise briefly widens her eyes before she allows that teasing comment out of her man, only to prompt him to shake his head in response. "I suppose I'll have to feed you while you're here then," she states, a soft sigh escaping her lips, though there's determination coloring her words. She couldn't simply allow a customer to leave her bakery unsatisfied, at least, that's what the dark skinned woman told herself. Gathering those goodies, she bags them up before inviting him into the kitchen, hardly caring whether he stayed or went, however, she doesn't miss the way his nostrils flare to take in the scent of those cookies in the oven; that heavenly scent drifting through the empty bakery. As she pushes through the double doors, she holds one open for him as he trails in after her, the man immediately posting up against the wall as she went to work. Tucking a few stray hands of wispy dark hair behind her ear she checks on those trays before she's pulling them from the oven, transferring them to the speed rack to cool.

Taliah is nothing but quick and efficient, silent in her work and not bothered in the slightest by the quiet that has fallen between the two of them. The dark skinned woman was hardly chatty in any sense, content to watch and observe rather than joining in conversations, though, there were times that someone could pique her interest enough to ask questions. Offering up whatever he so desired, she could see his eyes travel to those freshly baked goodies, perhaps debating on taking them all, Taliah hardly would have minded if that was the case, she would merely be having a late night at the bakery. Honestly, the woman is almost surprised that the man doesn't start drooling right then and there, Taliah almost worried he would begin snatching at those cookies and popping them into his mouth before they're cooled. The thought amuses the Brazilian woman, though she hides that humor easily before she's brushing past him in the confines of the kitchen. She hardly apologizes either as she turns around, reaching for two of those cupcakes and handing it to him.

Breathing those three little words manages to produce a faint smile on Taliah's lips as he begins to devour the chocolate, a groan of satisfaction filling the silence between them. Delicate brows arch at him, the woman pleased he seemed to be enjoying himself, or rather, his mouth seemed to. Running a finger through that frosting, she brings it to her lips as she licks it, the richness so coating the interior of her mouth as green eyes traveling to the baked good in hand. It's his exclamation that has the girl flicking her eyes back up to the stranger, her head tilting in curiosity as he groans at her. Narrowing her eyes, the woman looking far more exotic in that moment, she openly scoffs at him, perhaps the most emotion she had shown since the man had waltzed through her door. Though, it hardly held any heat; raising that cupcake to her lips she bites into it, and it was not a small bite, the woman had nearly consumed half of it in that single bite. Chocolate coats her lips as she munches away on it, all the while watching this stranger as she does so.

She doesn't respond to him until she finishes that delicacy, frosting coating the corner of her lip as she does so. She doesn't move to remove it and instead arches a brow at him, "Just because I enjoy a little frosting doesn't mean I'm some kind of animal," she states at him, though her eyes squint in amusement at her own little joke. Perhaps her humor was a bit dry but she knew what he was and she was certain he knew what she was. "And tell me, what would you do if one of your... staff decided to eat a cupcake like that?" She muses, folding her arms across her chest, still content to let that chocolate remain at the corner of her mouth, "Would you fire them?" She asks, tilting her head as she regards the man openly. Waiting patiently, she finally extends a hand to him, "Taliah," she introduces herself realizing they hadn't even exchanged names yet and they would be here for at least a little while longer. Waiting until they shake hands, she glances over her shoulder back at the speed rack, her brows drawn together in concentration as she calculates how much longer it would be. "It's going to be a little while, I can't bag those up like that or they'll fall apart," she mentions, "While we're waiting, can I get you anything? That rain is nasty outside," she pauses as her attention turns to those small windows in the double doors, glowering heavily as if she glared enough, the rain and cold would simply stop.

A small sigh is drawn out of her, her features relaxing, "I have hot chocolate and not that shitty store bought kind either," she prompts him taking it onto herself to make sure he did not leave this bakery wanting for anything.
