The woman hardly takes long to devour that cupcake, eyeing the man as she does so. Perhaps she had taken her point proving too far, though Taliah hardly cared as she finished that delicacy swiftly, eyeing the stranger to make sure he did the same. There was nothing she disliked more than people not finishing their food. Truly, how could you not finish your dessert? Brushing her fingers off, she listens to the soft chuckle that so emits from the man's throat, Taliah's green eyes lifting to glance at him. Allowing her own humor to fall from her lips, she doesn't expect the playfulness that the man returns, and instead, she gives a small shrug, a ghost of a smile playing on her lips, "Well, I suppose it depends on who you're talking to," she states in response. The man seemed friendly enough, considering he was the first were she had met since arriving in the city. The ones she had met in her past tended to be territorial and aggressive, she supposed it was a nice change of pace meeting one that didn't want to run her off the moment he saw her. The subject is quick to change as she inquires about the man's staff, her brows raising slightly as he clarifies. Truly, it made more sense as he began to explain that it was a pack rather than his staff. Giving a small nod, more to herself than to the man, "I'm pleased to hear that none of your pack eats cupcakes like heathens," she states, her eyes glittering with soft amusement, "If I were to guess... you must be a leader of one of the two packs here in the city," she says, making her sentence a statement rather than a question.
After a moment, she extends her hand and offers the man her name, noticing the way he glances down at her fingers as if he were inspecting them for chocolate. She almost frowns at the thought, but thinks better of it, she was certain she hadn't made that much of a mess. Waiting for him to shake her hand, Taliah can't help but widen her eyes in surprise as he reaches for her face rather than her hand, giving a name to his face. She might have stepped out of his reach if she had thought he were dangerous, yet, the moment he walked through her door, she hadn't sensed anything wrong about him, so she allows it as his thumb wipes the chocolate from the corner of her mouth, green eyes locked on him as she slowly drops her hand to her side. Tilting her head, she regards him openly and rather than being embarrassed, Taliah continues to silently watch him, even as he licks the chocolate from his finger. His statement brings a momentarily pause before she laughs, a strangely exotic sound before she reaches her tanned fingers to her face and wipes the last traces of chocolate away, sucking on her fingers as she does so. "I would have to agree with you," she says finally, her green eyes bright with amusement, "You know, if this is how you introduce yourself to all your acquaintances, I'm surprised you haven't been hit yet," she says, amusement coloring her voice. Of course, the woman wouldn't have hit the man, she might have stepped away but her curiosity got the better of her, the Brazilian woman entirely intrigued by this were.
Glancing back at the cookies, she notes the heat still coming off them, explaining it would still be a moment before offering to get him something, even extending her hot chocolate that she so very rarely shared with anyone. Tetradore's comment has the woman tilting her head at him, "I would much rather be in a chocolate coma than any other type of coma," she states bluntly, though her eyes glitter playfully, though she can't deny the way her emotions fell when the man tells her he was fine. Keeping the frown from her face, she merely shrugs her shoulders at him, "Suit yourself, word has that I have the best hot chocolate in the city," she muses, a lie, she hadn't offered anyone her famous drink, but the Brazilian woman was arrogant enough to think she did, in fact, have the best hot chocolate in the city. She hardly doubted she could simply bully the man into drinking it, though she had a sneaking suspicion that if she made it and set it in front of him, he would drink it. Taliah is about to do just that when a flash of lightning flared, bright enough to even light through the windows in the kitchen. Startled, a loud clash of thunder follows immediately, the whole bakery seeming to rattle. Freezing, the lights flicker overhead and dread blooms in her stomach, praying fiercely the power wouldn't go out, she's a touch late on her prayers as the bakery is plunged it darkness. "Shit," she mumbles, Tetradore forgotten as she moves slowly through the kitchen, so as to not knock anything over.
Finally reaching the other end of the kitchen, she yanks open a drawer, digging through it to find the small flashlight in case of emergencies like this, she flicks the switch on to produce a faint beam in the sudden darkness. She hadn't realized just how late it had become, though there was still a little light out front, the kitchen hardly held any windows. Pointing the light at Tetradore, she frowns momentarily before she moves back to those work tables, carefully arranging the light in her mouth as she quickly moves the dough that had been resting there, into one of the low cooler beneath. She knew she shouldn't open the coolers, but she chanced it, not wanting to lose the dough she had been working on all day. Taliah simply hoped the power would come back on soon, she couldn't afford to lose all the product her and Ludo had worked on. Feeling the light slip from her mouth, she's not quick enough to catch it as it plummets to the ground, the back breaking off and sending the batteries flying. The kitchen becomes dark once more as Taliah can be heard loosing a string of curses that would make even a sailor blush.
Fumbling through the dark, she unsuccessfully looks for the batteries, that frown permanently etched on her features for the time being. Tilting her head back, she groans, realizing she was going to lose quite a bit of product tonight. Pushing herself to a standing position, she moves slowly around the table, only to run into something solid and decidedly human. Stiffening, she had altogether forgotten that Tetradore was still here. Taking a step back to put a bit of space between them, she allows another sigh to race through her lips, "Sorry," she apologizes, "If you want to go out front where you can see better, I'll figure out a way to bag up your order so you can be off before this storm gets any worse," she states a bit dejectedly.
