He didn't want her to have to worry about her own safety. He didn't know what had happened to her but he wanted to make sure it would never happen again. She wasn't alone anymore. He didn't know why it was that he found himself back in Sacrosanct around the same time as she escaped her captors but it had to mean something. He had to have found himself near that alley for a reason. He didn't know what she remembered from her time with the coven that was after her powers. Maybe she didn't remember anything at all. Maybe she had already blocked it off like people in traumatic situations do. She had looked like crap when he saw her in front of that shop. Who knows how far she'd come to get there? She might have looked like that with her captors. He didn't know and maybe he never would. He wasn't surprised to hear her walk into the kitchen first. Adele's cooking tended to bring in all the people of the house at one time or another. It was like she only knew how to make huge meals even though the main guest of the house didn't eat food. He didn't mind though. She stayed happy if she stayed busy and it kept the rest of the staff happy and well fed. He smirked as she told Adele she couldn't help but be hungry with the smells. She waved her hand around. "Have a seat. I'll bring it to you, dear." She poured her a glass of milk and started putting out platters of everything on the table so she could grab what she wanted. All the sides were there too, everything from butter to jelly. When he came to lean in the doorway, Sorcha's head snapped around to look at him. She seemed surprised about something. He tilted his head, watching her. Then she said to wait a minute and he raised a brow, the corner of his lip twitching with humor. When she commented about the sun, he chuckled and took another sip of his drink. "Well, you can try some of my drink if you don't believe it. I hope you like your blood warm." He held it toward her, not expecting her to actually take him up on it of course. He was sure blood would taste disgusting to a witch. She walked over toward him and he watched her curiously, smirking when she poked his chest. Was it bad that he was turned on by such a simple gesture? He'd have to watch himself around her. At least she slept well. His smirk softened. "Good. I'm glad." His eyes showed that he meant it. He liked that he could get her to smile. She made a sound and turned to go back to the table and he couldn't help but let his gaze trail down her slender back to her delectable backside. It was just too tempting. She said she'd eat breakfast to be ready to take a long walk and he nodded. "Sounds like a plan." He took another sip and came to take a seat beside her, leaning over to whisper. "Looks delicious." He was looking at her plate but then his gaze lifted to her and there was heat behind his eyes, making it obvious that he wasn't talking about the food. He just couldn't seem to help himself around her. |
