The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Oliver Burton
When that door slowly opened he was met by a gleaming young woman, her auburn hair seemed oddly familiar. He drew in a breath to draw in that scent, as if looking for answers as to who this person was and what were they doing claiming to have a lunch date with him. His shadowy eyes watch her carefully, every move, every bat of those large innocent eyes. For a moment, the secretary hesitated as if not really wanting to leave, most likely wanting to spy on the unique woman that had arrived unannounced. He offered the secretary a quick gesture, a singular nod of his head dismissing as politely as he could in that very moment. He was still entirely pissed over that conversation with the man who seemed inferior at his job, why people would want to sacrifice quality and their own integrity was beyond him. That was not how he operated nor would he allow his employees to do the same.
Oliver rarely had visitors visit him within his high rise tower. The man was truly an isolated soul locked within this dark tower with his own doom and gloom. His sister though, when ever she did visit barely stepped foot in this building, probably it was too gloomy for her. He wanted her close, safe and sound where he could protect her from the hunters that threatened their remaining family.
Even in his human form, Oliver was certainly a predator. The strikingly still way he watched people and a bear's temper he was known to possess. If only they knew what he truly was. Yet despite this, this blushing woman, shy and sweet looking actually seemed happy to see him. Most seemed apprehensive and perhaps even a little intimidated, most people were. His presence was as large and imposing as his bear was.
Once the door was closed he suspected the tension in the room to alter. She was like a little lamb brought to slaughter, he could chew her up and eat her up. Those words slid toward her, they moved like shadows, probing and searching. Yet that smile never faltered, not even for a second as she practically skipped over to his desk. What an unafraid little lamb. A giggle seemed to escape her lips also, the very sound so very odd in this place. She replied without missing a beat, her bubbly attitude and words only confused him. A subtle frown found his dark features as she claimed he did know her, his chocolate eyes continue to watch her. He was sure he would remember, absolutely certain of it. The scenario only got more confusing as she claimed to have brought him lunch, no one brought him lunch unless he had it ordered. He was skeptical, but watched the animated woman speak-rant all the same. Who was she?
She placed the paper bag on his desk with a thud, it was a heavy bag, but the aroma of the food within it reached his nostrils. He really was hungry. "Hmm.. I can't say I recall your face.. Your eyes though and your hair.. they seem... familiar somehow." He peered up at her from his chair, like a king on his throne. She also smelled like a shifter now that she drew closer, but he wasn't going to just blurt that out his finding. If only if he could place two and two together.
He had to admit, he was not a fan of supermarkets, she had a point there. But that was why he had someone who shopped for him. "I have someone that goes food shopping for me." He admitted, knowing very well how he hated crowded spaces and too many people, his bear practically bristled at the idea. Which was why he was known as the elusive business tycoon, he rarely went to the functions of rubbing elbows, he had a person for that.
He didn't reach to touch the paper bag full of food even though his inner bear wanted to investigate the contents in that obscure brown bag, wanted to shove his big nose into it and get a good solid whiff. It was as if she knew as she pulled out two containers opening them so he could catch a glimpse. He leaned in, unable to hide that intrigue, peering in a way that must have seemed curious. No one brought him lunch like this. It certainly smelled as delicious as it looked, he could feel the annoying pang of hunger. His mouth watered at the look at that succulent fish cooked and lightly seasoned to perfection. He could have eaten it raw too, but how civilized was that? How did she know this was one of his favorite dishes? Still he hadn't the faintest of ideas whom this woman was. She just had to be selling something, or would those hunters send a disarming women to fool him into eating poisoned food? Just when we was about to let his skepticism show by opening his mouth she began speaking. So many words sprouted from this girls mouth.
He took her fishing? Wait back up a second, a pensive look found his features. "Hmm." That was when it clicked. "Your that bear.. panda girl. The one that ambushed me in the forest." The deep rich sound of his baritone English accent drifted for her ears. "You scared all the fish away with your thrashing and floundering about in the water." That hardened look he gave every being he came across seemed to subside. He shook his head in disbelief. Why was she really here?
She was already diving into the next topic, about taking off from here, gesturing to the nice weather outdoors. He sighed looking at the mound of paperwork on his desk, surely it would be there when he got back. "I.." ...can't, I have to work were the words he should have said. But the look on her face and the food... god the food. It would be a shame to let it go to waste. "I suppose I can spare some time." He really could offer more than that, she did come all this way to bring food when he would have probably worked through yet another lunch, only continuing to irritate the bear.
She sighed before speaking again. Ollie..she kept calling him ollie, only his sister ever called him that. She said she had a question. Ah, there it was. "A question? All this way for a question. You are unbelievable, you know that?" He huffed and yet he couldn't hide that slight smile threatened to appear on his usually stern and sullen features. The dark-haired man rose from his chair, his muscles aching as he did. He spent far too much time in his office for one day. "Alright, Abigail. You have my complete attention. We can go to the park a few blocks away, there are some benches by a pond there. Do you know the place?" It was man made but still they landscaped it nicely with blooming cherry blossoms and even filled the pond with koi fish. He put his cellphone on silent before plopping it into his pant pocket. He had his wallet and he supposed he didn't need his keys or much else really. "I do have a few questions of my own, Little Bit." that nickname from within the woods easily flowed from his lips. Little Bit, it suited her. She was so small in comparison to him, so bouncy and bubbly too. But that wasn't so different in his animal form either, he was used to towering over others. He slipped out from his desk heading toward to door. He hadn't bothered with his jacket, it was warm enough he didn't need one. Hell with his polar bear blood, he hardly needed a jacket ever. It was all about appearances. "You coming?"
As they left the building, he told the receptionists that he would not be returning. That caused a ruckus, like two hens stunned, wide eyed and about to burst into nonsensical clucking. In their case talking, if you could call gossip talking. But he really couldn't care what they thought, those silly human girls. If only they knew the world in which he truly belong. What a lonely world it was.
