East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Her heart was breaking for him and she didn't even know what was going on yet. She just hated to see him like this. Henry was a good purpose. He was her first friend in Sacrosanct and she didn't think he deserved anything but the truest of happiness. He seemed hesitant as he stood there on the threshold, like he was questioning whether he should be there or not and that in itself caused Malia's chest to tighten in disagreement. They would always be friends, no matter that they were in different packs. She didn't believe in ultimatums like that. She took his hand, comforted by its warmth as she led him upstairs toward her room. She paused to ask which he would rather, not wanting to suffocate him in a room if he needed to be outside in the air. He shrugged, saying it was fine and the hopelessness in his expression killed her.

As they entered her room, he closed the door and she sat on the bed, patting the spot beside her if he wanted to sit to talk. As he rested his head in his hands, she leaned toward him, her eyes widening in shock as he told her that Sterling left him. He admitted that he'd told Sterling about them. Malia could only assume he meant about them sleeping together. She bit her bottom lip, not sure what to say on that subject. Then he said that Sterling told him to leave and when he came back, Sterling was gone. She scowled thoughtfully. "I'm sorry, Henry. Maybe he just needs some time to process. Some space. He loves you. He'll forgive you." She ached for the words to be true, knowing how he felt about Sterling.
