The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

With one hundred floors and a 125-foot spire, the Starlight Tower rises high above the Sacrosanct skyline. More than just a landmark, the Starlight Tower offers a unique mix of restaurants, shops, and offices spaced throughout the building. Organized into nine verticle zones, each of which features a sky lobby and a light-filled garden atrium which merge the upscale interior with a faux landscaped exterior setting.
I hug the rain jacket a little tighter around myself, the hood pulled up over my face as I huddle and slouch my shoulders, trying to make myself invisible as I hurry along the sidewalk. It was lonely at the house and I don't like storms. Raven's with Tobi, I guess, and Isolt's out wherever so that leaves me in a big empty house. Sure, I could huddle up to the fireplace like I do most days but today I wanted to get out. I would be racing around the woods outside of town in my fox form but for some reason I wanted to stay human today. So instead I'm walking as fast as I can down the sidewalk, trying not to touch shoulders with anyone who walks past as they hurry off to shelter out of the storm. I don't even know where, I'm going, not yet, but the minute I see the cozy little sign for my new favorite cafe, my lips form a soft simper and I duck inside at the entrance, instantly feeling the soothing atmosphere relax my tense muscles.
I keep my arms crossed, hugging myself to keep warm as I slowly draw back the hood, letting my damp black hair fall around my shoulders as I shake it a little, a habit from my fox days. I glance around, a little surprised to see only a lone man near the door sipping from a mug and eating a pastry that smells like heaven. Offering him a shy smile, I find a table not too far away and take a seat, hugging my arms around myself once more as I look at the menu. If he goes to move, I look up in surprise, shaking my head with a guilty expression.
"Oh, you don't have to get me anything right now. You look so comfortable over there."
I'd feel bad for making him move since he was probably banking on no one coming in with this kind of weather. I glance back down at the menu. I've already decided the hot chocolate sounds just right since I can actually drink it, unlike the coffee. I just like smelling coffee but the taste is too bitter for me. Just about any pastry would do. I love sweets. I bite my lower lip as I look through the options before my eyes slowly lift to look at the weather outside. A soft sigh falls from my lips. I hate storms but in the same token, I love their feral nature. So unpredictable. If only I could be more like that.
