The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Alexander found a comfortable familiarity with being on the back of a horse. A great deal of his life had been spent around the creatures, the man, in turn, seeming quite at home as he encouraged his steed onwards, ensuring Alexis' mare followed beside him. The Dark Hunter was entirely aware of just how...insecure the young woman was upon her horse. She seemed...visibly tense, at least at first as the equine made her way steady down towards the lake. He was unaware of the way the young woman's gaze kept drifting towards him, at least, until the oceanic hue of his irises briefly met her own. That off handed compliment seemed to prompt a near beaming grin upon her feminine features as she insisted it was because of him. A soft chuckle left his lips before his shoulders lifted in a vague shrug. "It is not as difficult as it seems." That is, at least with these well-trained, well-ridden horses.
The vibrancy of his gaze turned towards the lake before him. Although he knew well that Alexis had originally desired a beach, much like the scenes painted in romance movies and novels - pulling off such a scene was a touch more difficult when stables he deemed acceptable with access to the ocean were scarce. Alexander could only hope that this would suffice. His gaze turned towards her feminine features as the Hunter inquired after her own thoughts, gesturing briefly towards the body of water in front of them. Alexander watched as her lips parted in a small display of awe, the glass surface of the lake reflecting the sunset that painted the sky above. That soft gasp prompted a small simper to flutter across Alexander's features before Alexis sighed near wistfully. "I hope you do. The trail wraps around the lake and loops back to the stables. We should be back before nightfall." It was a short ride, really, but for her first time out, Alexander had thought it was best to remain that way. This, after all, was just a taste of what his life was like.
