East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Oliver Burton

The upbeat waitress swiftly took Oliver up on his offer for help as she asked him to text her the details. Which would have been fine if he had her information. Even the businessman could hardly help the questioning look that crossed his eyes. Did she really not know? "I cannot do that, Chizue. Because I do not have your number." He reached into his pocket to remedy that dilemma as he took out his wallet, his deft fingers fished out an embossed card with his name Oliver Burton sprawled across it with his contact information on it before extending it toward the woman to take. "It's my private line. Just shoot me a quick message when you can tonight and I will message you tomorrow with the details." He offered casually before he tucked the wallet safely back into that same pocket it came from.

Chizue then began to enlighten Oliver about the various conundrums of her life in a colourful, near chaotic rush. The dark-haired, attentive male listened to each and every blurted thought, interested in each topic and yet unsure where exactly she might end up. At first, the unwavering business tycoon was speechless as she decided to confide in him with so much and yet so little before she settled upon the wish to know his opinion on what she should do with her hair. That was a first. He offered, what he could, or at least attempted to. Yet it was clear to him that the woman was frustrated, using that as a catalyst to grasp at change, wherever she could. She seemed to brush over his concern, dismissing him with her quick reply and the offer of a bright, dazzling smile that he was certain was all for his benefit. One the businessman didn't quite seem to buy but allowed to stand anyways.

A moment later, she moved, abruptly as if some form of resolve had struck her where she stood. He followed the sudden but confident movement as she placed both hands on the table's. edge The very action drew her far closer than she had been. Her hair fell slightly forward and yet through the dark locks he could not help but notice the long slope of her fragile neck, including the breasts that she placed at eye level. Not even he could miss her all too feminine features, despite the gentleman he was. At least he remained polite, to a degree, as he urged that wandering gaze to search for her dark chocolate eyes, a far safer choice. I was just in time for her to announce that she was going to quit her job. Perhaps changing her hairstyle seemed like a less... drastic move now. It was apparent, the determined resolve that seized her was set like cement, which included the very fact that she intended to leave with him. Without giving him a moment to reply, his waitress briskly spun around and took off to the kitchen to place his order like a woman on a mission. He stole a secretive glance to track her casually before she disappeared from view. He exhaled a singular breath before he ran a hand through the two-day-old stubble that adorned his jaw left in contemplation of what just had happened.

He was hardly left to his own company for long before she promptly returned to him. She was by far the most attentive waitress he had ever had, he was certain. She wasted no time placing his ordered cognac in front of him, careful not to spill a single drop before she tucked herself into the booth across from him as he offered his thanks and a simple nod of approval. It would seem that he was a part of this upheaval of her life now and the least he could do, was make quick work of that drink to make it happen. But even he had to admit that the glass was filled far more than any other establishment he had ever been to. Whether that was an act out of a slight to her soon-to-be past place of employment or she did it because she liked him, was another matter. Something he did not think too long on as he caught onto the sweet way her chin nestled delicately within her palm, as she eyed him in a way he would almost describe as expectant as he sipped his drink.

Perhaps some fresh air and company would do them both some good even though there was some reluctance to eat that meal that he had wanted to eat with actual cutlery and preferably a table. Both things seemed to elude him. Had he realized this, he would have ordered something other than Shepherd's pie. Although, Chizue seemed to misunderstand the poor job of explaining his true intent before she sought to 'educate' him on the ways of plastic takeaway cutlery. He shook his head softly. "I am well aware of the invention and existence of plastic cutlery." Which unfortunately included being terrible for the environment, but he kept that to himself.

The waitress seemed to eye him as he drew that glass to his lips with a clearly attentive look, before his gaze found her, sending her gaze to a swift retreat to look at something fascinating outside of the window. It was almost like it made her shy to meet his gaze. So bossy and surefooted a minute ago and yet shy the moment their eyes lingered on one another for too long. Interesting.

Then, Chizue suggested they could go to the fountain to eat. It was a nice enough night for it. A wonderful suggestion. "Ah, I know the place, that will work." He offered in agreement.. Oliver has spent most of his time indoors as of late within his office, this was probably for the best. Perhaps this was exactly the change of pace and scenery he needed.

"It is not too late to change your mind, I will not judge you for it if you did." He offered. It was a big move to make on a whim, one that she was likely to be able to change her mind on once in motion.. Something that might seem easier to say in the heat of frustration rather than to actually execute it. "I imagine you have had your mind made for some time now, but the choice remains yours. But I am curious, how will or would you quit?" He leaned forward, and traced her face thoughtfully with his eyes. "I suppose you can always tell them you plan to run away with a rich and powerful man. Last years most eligible bachelor of Sacrosanct to be precise. No, I did not know they were publishing that. That was all my assistants doing. Or will you choose a more direct route? It would likely be far less concerning to your friends here." He brought his lightly smiling lips to his glass as he was curious if she might entertain the idea of sharing her thoughts on the matter.
