East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

for the lips of a forbidden woman drip honey
her speech is smoother than oil
but in the end she is bitter as wormwood
sharp as a two-edged sword
her feet go down to death
her steps follow the path to Sheol

- PROVERBS 5:3-5;;
The flattery that fell from her customer's lips failed to stir anything within the young woman. A small frown crossed her features, almost refusing to believe that she had created some kind of infamy in the underground occult. She watched him continue to make himself at home within her shop, choosing not to reply at all to his comment. That frown only continued to mar her face as he quickly waved off any concern about price, leading the young girl's eyes to the cut within her own garment. She turned from him abruptly, as if his observation alone had somehow made her self conscious of her clothing. It was quite an accomplishment, to make the girl feel awkward within her own 'home'. Her grey tinged eyes settled upon the notepad she was hardly intending to use, listening to his masculine voice describe what he desired his potion to actually do. Death was nothing new to the young woman, it was hardly her favorite of potions to make but it was something she was familiar with at the very least. She stayed silent, her pen doodling on her notepad despite her attention staying settled upon the words from his lips.

Her name falling from his mouth quickly caught the girl's attention, her eyebrows furrowing as she regarded him for a long moment. It was the first time anyone had actually called the young girl 'beautiful' and for a moment she wasn't sure how to react. She bit her bottom lip as she considered him and his request. Part of her wanted to say no and force him out of her shop, another part wishing to show him that she was capable of living up to the honeyed words he gave her before too forcing him from her shop. There was something about him that set her on edge and for a moment she fidgeted before her head bobbed ever so slightly. "Fine - but if you move from that spot I will destroy your stupid potion." She grumbled, hardly wanting to find him hovering over her shoulder. Serafina retreated quickly from the store front, a soft sigh on her breath as she found herself in front of her workbench. She wasn't sure how he made her feel but there was certainly something peculiar about him, something that was almost too intense. She slowly placed an empty cauldron in front of her, her gaze shifting upwards towards the bottles that lined her shelves.

After a moment of hesitance the girl reached up, slowly plucking item after item from her shelves. If he wanted something bland like a heart attack, she was more then capable of providing - without her signature twist. There was a grumble on her lips as she deposited oils and herbs into her cauldron, letting the potion swirl and bubble as mixed it. It was slowly taking shape, the color turning from an indistinguishable white to sage green and finally tilting to a ebony color. Only when it was perfect did the young girl grab a knife, her eyebrows knitting together as she held it up against her flesh. The slice caused her to wince as the silver liquid began to flow down her hand. She picked up a spoon, carefully measuring the amount of her own blood that was going into the potion. He wanted it effective, nice and normal - it required the exact amount of measurement to get right. Her potion slowly began to transform from a flat black to an almost shimmery shade, only when the exact amount was placed in did the girl attempt to tie her wound shut, a small yawn crossing her lips. Carefully, she poured the mixture into a small glass vial, slowly meandering out of the back room to present him with her creation. She hadn't realized the amount of time that had passed, only beginning to mark it by the darkness that filled her small room. The sun had set whilst she was busy. Nonchalantly she handed the man her glass vial offering only a, "Here's what you asked for. You have to put it in a drink. It will take a bit to go into effect...gives you plenty of time to get away....or something." Her voice trailed off, finding herself far more tired then she expected.
