The fact that someone hadn't tried coffee was one thing but to never have heard of it was almost blasphemous in Nadya's mind. Before Nadya has had her coffee she wasn't much of a talker, and Alexis' hesitance about the situation and proximity to her didn't have Nadya pressing matters any further. She simply motioned with a slight wave of her hand for Alexis to follow and had led her to the café Nadya had been frequenting since she moved into the city. Once they were closer to the café did Nadya offer conversation again, picking on the mumbling near humiliation that Alexis had given her particular Were species. Nadya had never met a fox, only knew they were smaller canines and supposed to be cunning creatures. "Foxes still have teeth, just go after the ankles." Nadya commented lightly, holding no judgment as she shrugged, turning her attention to the patrons entering and exiting the café.
Her chocolate eyes took in every detail, analyzing with a predator's precision the people that came and went. She had stopped closer to the curb while she evaluated the people, obviously calculating something. A man in a suit emerged from the café, juggling a carton with drinks in both hands and trying to hold a cellphone to his ear with his shoulder which he was currently talking very heatedly into. Nadya quickly sprang into action, acting as if she were to pass him but knocking her shoulder into his, causing the man to almost lose his drinks and drop his phone. "Oh, I'm so sorry, I'm such a klutz!" Nadya feigned apology, watching the man readjust himself again, scowling at her slightly before muttering an "it's ok" before hurrying off. She waited for the man to be well out of sight before her delicate fingers pulled a wallet from behind her back, riffling through it to pluck out the cash inside then putting the wallet itself on a nearby bench, she had no use for the plastic inside. While Tobias every once in a while greeted Nadya with some cash, from lord knows where, it wasn't enough to keep up with the food intake of three young adults along with her coffee needs lately. "Come on, let's get some coffee." Nadya's welcoming smile briefly turned back to Alexis as if nothing was wrong with what she had just done then disappeared inside the café.
The line inside wasn't too bad, barely more than a handful of people occupied the space at that moment which provided background noise to drown out whatever they talked about while not being so noisy that they wouldn't be able to hear each other. Nadya ordered coffee for the two of them along with a couple pastries, a few which got piled in a small brown paper bag to be used as bribery for Tobias later. "So...why did you run away?" Nadya finally questioned as she shuffled over to plop down at a small two-person booth against the wall. Her hands wrapped around the warm mug, sipping at the dark bitter liquid, eyeing Alexis curiously. There was nothing like a cup of coffee to soothe her nerves, something that was left over more from a memory of sitting on her father's lap in the morning as he read his newspaper and drank his coffee, the smell permeating her sensitive child's nose.
