East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Alexander, Frost had decided, was either very well guarded else an entirely dull individual- the Hunter evidently displeased in the fashion with which the equine remained content to pilfer through his belongings and yet he offered little more than a stern look- as if a look was truly supposed to enforce any sort of authority over a creature unwilling to truly offer the man any respect until the day it was fairly earned. He is a war horse, a stallion, a creature designed entirely to be stubborn and yet much of his animalistic nature is offset by his own human personality, that side of the man equally as disagreeable. He dislikes authority in any form, remains content to command his own actions offering little yield to the desires of others in any regard. Why should he? He is dominant by nature even without the infusion of Were blood within his veins. For now however, he simply chooses to seat himself, his interest in Alexander useless collection of rocks and wood and dated horse bits of no interest to the snowy-haired man any longer as his attention divides itself between the container of sugar so freely offered and the golden-haired Hunter that begrudgingly seats himself exactly as Frost has intended it, one eye lifting ever so slightly somewhere beneath that forelock of hair as the vaguest taint of amusement lingers somewhere upon his features- a single sugar cube plucked from the jar he has taken from himself before being flicked towards the Hunter as he sits.

"Good boy- and they told me you couldn't be trained."

It is a dry humour, a barb of sorts concealed beneath a vague sheath of amusement and yet for whatever reason the stallion remains content to push at the other man's nature, searching in as much the same manner he had done with Tetradore for any hint of weakness to be exploited upon him. He had, for now, every desire of working with the Hunter and yet he would be more the fool if he failed to seize an opportunity to better understand the individual before him. He had hardly survived this long, despite his youth, for being foolish. The words the Hunter offers seem to capture the equines attention once more, a soft snort offered by way of response, one hand gesturing loosely to the variety of trinkets adoring the shelves behind him- ignoring those buzzing whispers in his mind once more.

"Oh- and how many of those things are actually yours and how many did you steal from whatever poor little village you burned to the ground, hmm? Ownership is a matter of perspective- Alexander- or do you prefer having 'The Great' added to it? The again that is a matter of perspective too."

It was the mention of Bessus that had first indicated the truth of this man's origins to the equine. In all the years he had known Xerxes no other had ever referred to him by that name, one that was not particularly difficult to google, his supposed death and the cause of it equally as easily accessible- not to mention that Alexander had failed to change his name in all those years, affording the equine an assurance in his assumption now as a soft chuckle simply hums within his throat and he reclines further back within his chair at the inevitable demand of the Hunter to explain what he wanted- Frost content to leave the manner of identity for now â€" though other questions upon it still existed, the equine holding some manner of curiosity in that regard and yet he holds no desire to show it, features remaining indifferent.

"Your not very good at making friends are you? I rather hoped you'd make a bit more of an effort to get along with the mounted group. They have no trust in me so it rather benefits me if they trust you and yet you did nothing more than start a fight with Xerxes over something that happened over one thousand years ago I believe- how very mature of you."

He reaches for another cube of sugar, his sixth already, enjoying that tangible sweetness it offers- lyrics smooth, cold and calm as always as he offers the other man a chance to interject before carrying on.

"One of them has what I am looking for and if you're willing to make a little more effort than the last time in at least tolerating them I might be willing to help you with your Xerxes problem. Since we're going to be helping each other though there are a few things we need to get sorted."

He pauses once more, allowing the sugar to dissolve upon his tongue, offering little room for Alex to interject either way, having already decided this particular Hunter was to be his unfortunate partner. It had taken years to find one indifferent enough, let alone one willing, perhaps, to irritate the council a little and yet for whatever reason Alexander seemed to hold little fear of them- rare amongst the Hunter breed although in truth Frost holds little knowledge of the group all the same.

"We hardly have to spend much time with the group- insufferable fools the lot of them, we merely have to assist them a little every now and then, eliminate a Were pack or two- I have a list of their targets, we help them out a few times and they might be willing to spend some time with you in turn until I can get back what they took. It's not a particularly difficult plan though it brings me to my next point- did you truly do as all the books seem to claim that you did? Did you truly conquer as much as they say or do these books merely fabricate a legend? Forgive my questions but I find myself curious, if you will."

It is perhaps the first time the white haired man has been content to offer any true politeness to his companion now, one hand moving to run loosely through those looks of white blonde, offering the faintest view of the violet gaze beneath.

"I particularly enjoy those tales of your infamous horse, the one you 'tamed' as a child by turning it into the sun to stop it seeing its own shadow, you would barely have been tall enough to climb onto that animals back let alone ride it. An Akhal-Teke stallion is a....fiery creature- I have my doubts on a few of your skills and the stories that surround them but I am willing to be proven wrong."
