East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Halloween is always an interesting time in the world, and one she had typically enjoyed by people watching everyone. Families, adults, slutty teens, all kinds seemed to come out of the woodwork on a night where anything goes. Perhaps that's why their kind, anyone who was simply 'other', enjoyed the freedom All Hallows Eve brought. The chance to be whatever they wanted to be without limits, a choice most of them never got to voluntarily make. She had to imagine that more than some had been unwillingly changed as she had, or if not unwillingly at least unexpectedly. When you're little they ask what you want to be when you grow up and most children say a doctor, a firefighter, or maybe a pirate; no one said a shifter or a vampire. Sporting spots underneath the full moon certainly had never been her plan when she was younger, but everything for a reason right? Tonight they got to choose what they were, and it explained the growing crowd in the pub. It takes all kinds, she thought sardonically as her hazel eyes danced around the scene, making mental notes of the different characters on the field. Little Red Riding Hood, a stereotypical fairy, a few vampires, and was that Zorro? She shook her head in amusement, tousling her dirty blonde hair in the process as she muttered the famous swashbuckler lyrics.

Looking up again her eyes just so happened to lock on the brilliant blues of a man who had seemingly appeared out of thin air, his somewhat forward compliment bringing the tips of her pink glossed lips to turn up into an impish smile. "Ah, you have no idea matey. We're all mad here." she said with a wink as she took in his costume, rather original when compared to some of the others in the crowd and that is something she could appreciate. He was tall with a ruffled head of blond hair that matched her own beneath his extravagant hat she noticed as she let her eyes drift slowly over him, men weren't the only one who could enjoy the physical body. Her body shifts, angling toward him so that one elbow is propped against the wooden bar before gesturing to the empty bar stool, "It's yours for the taking, if you dare." She leaned in conspiratorially with eyebrows raised, her voice lowered for dramatic effect as he moved to sit beside her. She took a long draw of her drink, leaning back again as he settled and trying to remember how this all went usually. She didn't socialize much, snow leopards were one of the more solitary creatures and it seemed the instinct had taken root since she was turned, and her line of work left little time or energy for much else.

Still she remembered some of how this worked and looked to hold his eyes as she extended one delicate hand toward him, "I'm Carolina. What would you like me to call you? Unless you prefer the Mad Hatter." A smile danced on her pink lips as she gave him an appreciative glance, one hand running up the side of her crimson corset to adjust it slightly, she was beginning to see exactly why these things had gone out of style Pain was beauty back in the day she had heard, though her knowledge of pirates extended to the first Pirates of the Caribbean movies and a few episodes of Black Sails. Still they had made the pirate's life look like a thrilling time, and who knew looking into the crystalline yes of the tall man next to her perhaps being a wench for the night might prove to be more than entertaining.
