East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

living like we're renegades

long live the pioneers
rebels and mutineers

While the slender blonde woman can be called many things shy would never be one of them. Her life had been one that demanded she take what she wanted and slough off any inhibitions she might have previously possessed. In truth she was now felt more comfortable and pleased with the most casual of encounters, it was the deep and personal things that made her tail twitch. She highly doubted she had that to worry about however as she held his crystalline gaze, intense as it was his appreciation of her was exactly what she had aimed for when she laced herself up this evening. The slight flash of brilliant white fangs catches her attention but she shows no sign of surprise, their kind always ruled this night in one way or another, but she still knew she might need to tread lightly where he was concerned, some vampires weren't what they seemed.

She nods in appreciation of his response to her quip, and the way his English accent lilted his words in a pleasing manner as he moves fluidly into the chair beside her. Obviously her words hadn't deterred him at all, gladly for she would have been disappointed in him if they had and it was turning into a very promising evening indeed. "Then cheers to your insanity," she says sardonically raising her chilled glass to him before letting the liquid slide down her throat. The loudness of their environment forces them to stand closer than they might have otherwise, but she finds the vantage point it gives her more than beneficial. His sculpted features were almost too fine, his skin porcelain set with his jeweled eyes. Amongst the myriad of smells in the crowded bar she catches a whiff of his scent, a muskiness headed by his cologne that piqued the more animalistic side of her interests in the most delicious of ways.

In a flash he has a drink in his hand and she is distracted enough wondering what exactly it might be that she doesn't notice his next movement. Suddenly his soft yet firm hand is grasping the one of hers that is not already taken. Her first reaction is to snatch it away, being controlled by anyone isn't something she ever allowed, but perhaps because it was so unexpected she simply watches and forces herself to relax. Her supple lips part slightly into a slight 'o', hazel eyes flashing toward his own as his lips brushed lightly over her skin. Time seemed to stretch between them as he lowered her hand before finally releasing it, his velveteen name the only thing he offered in lieu of an explanation. "Well damn," she muttered breathily as one manicured eyebrow raised in a mixture of appreciation and derision. It wasn't often that she let someone see her sweat, especially not a stranger, but it was no mean feat to elicit such a response either so she had to give him props for that.

She withdrew her hand, flexing the fingers against the heat that still seemed to linger as she tried to regain her measure of him. "It's been a pleasure so far, I'll let you know if that changes," she said finally, the words carefully chosen though delivered with the sweetest of her southern twanged tones. As of late she was more used to dealing with her marks, belligerent drunks that could no more charm or surprise her than they could walk a straight line which made their encounter all the more pleasurable. His eyes followed her movement as she fidgets the corset, realizing exactly why the antiquated garments had died off, and like the rest of him his observation piques her interest. "Have much experience with them do you?" she questioned, though she expected the answer might just be yes, at least it would give her some judge of what time he came from, not that it mattered much.

Leaning forward her dexterous hand rose to smooth the collar of his silken gray shirt where it had popped up due to his overcoat. "Like most things they have their place," she spoke quietly as her hand withdrew but her proximity did not, "it just so happens things like this belong on the floor." Carefully she raises her drink to her lips, the cool liquid more than refreshing as she watches his face for the slightest of nuances, eager to see if she could surprise him at all.
