East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The stars in their orbits

Nadya didn't expect anything less from Sam about handling the affairs of the burlesque in her absence. She knew it could and probably would be argued that there were other capable and perhaps more qualified employees to take on the responsibility. However, none of them had been more resilient than Samantha when it came to dealing with the other fae's. That same personality was what she needed; the ability to keep going while others tried to bring you down. There would be dozens of situations trying to make you fail in the business world and you had to have the skill set to sort through it all. So while Nadya allowed Sam to flounder at the prospect, she simply continued on as if she hadn't heard her.

"Lyrica will report to you about the girls and the routines she plans to use each night and what costumes and any supplies for them that are needed so you can order them." Nadya remained steadfast in her decision. There wasn't any way around her need for Sam to take over. Her difficulty with her shifts was like being a child again and it wasn't any good for her to be having that in the burlesque where it could taint its good reputation. It was her continued explanation to Sam that got cut short from smelling her brother rather thickly layered on the girl at this close proximity. Nadya had to take a step back at Sam's explanation. Aiden was seeing...dating...her employee, a fae.

Nadya's features were unreadable as her thoughts within tumbled about. Her brother hadn't said anything about with Sam, let alone even speaking to her beyond that first night. Why had he neglected to tell her this? Hurt, disbelief... those were just two of the emotions that coursed through her. She had moved in and now things were being kept from her, things that affected her business and the pack in a huge way. It took another moment of Nadya taking a breath for those logical thoughts to return. Surely he hadn't meant to hide Sam from her; with Nadya's delicate and already overwhelmed plate with all the changes...he must have just been waiting for things to calm down.

It didn't however stop Nadya from pursing her lips as she looked back at Sam. "You should have told me." She clenched and unclenched her hands as she worked out the cramp that came from fighting off her change during that first moment of being told. Nadya seated herself in the chair at her desk, tapping her fingers in thought on the smooth wood. "I suppose it's better than the vampire, at least you can go out during the day." This was said mostly to herself as her gaze lingered on the box that contained the twins' toys that now sat on the floor. She looked back at Sam with stern determination. "Don't you dare break his heart. I already had to see him hurt from Isolt and I'm not going to see him hurt again. He doesn't give his heart easily, even as a kid, you can't just take it and then stomp on it. Don't be dating him unless you see it going somewhere." That warning edge to her tone slowly crept in more and more as she went on.
