The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

There was no surprise in Nadya's eyes as she saw Sam behind the desk. It had probably become equivalent to a safety blanket for Sam. Nadya wouldn't ever truly understand how Sam, as beautiful and kind as she was, could be so darn shy. Her own upbringing hadn't allowed Nadya to develop that, ever encouraging her independence and social behavior. "Everyone...keeps saying it like that." Yes she had left rather suddenly and hadn't set foot back in the burlesque in quite some time but she was still watchful from afar. She received updates from Lyrica and saw the reports generated by Sam's hand. She knew the business was running...or at least hadn't set fire. So why did everyone seem so surprised by seeing her there? It was her damn business.
Nadya graced the desktop with the alcohol, watching as Sam seemed to understand that there wasn't a way around this. Perhaps this whole talking thing would have been easier for Nadya if she had had something prepared. As it was, after the call, Nadya hadn't given it any thought before her form had easily shifted into feline and stalked from the Ark. It was a delicate balance that the pair found themselves in. Sam was her employee and could be called her friend, but she was also dating her brother which in itself made business life delicate...and then add in the information that had reached her ears. A sigh left Nadya's lips after downing her second shot, looking down at the blonde blue eyed woman who was a stark contrast to her own dark complexion. "You can barely be in the same room with more than two people. How do you think you can run a monarchy?"
This was perhaps the most lucid Nadya had been in a very long time. Though it was a struggle and it was noticeable in the way that she had to pause to think before speaking. Her speech would have been scattered otherwise. Maybe it was the alcohol, allowing her recently scattered turmoil of a brain the chance to slow down and grasp at the words. Nadya remained standing for a moment before slowly lowering herself to the plush chair in front of the desk and across from Sam. Nadya's attention slid down to her shot glass, playing her finger around the rim as a frown etched her features, "Does my brother know?" Did it mean she was leaving him...leaving the pack? Was Nadya could to have to see her brother fall into himself once more? She knew it affected him more than he would ever let on. Nadya would never understand the horrors that Risque put him through and his stolen childhood but she did understand that it was the cause of how he was today so reserved with letting himself show emotion. "I can't...if you leave...I can't leave him alone." She was beginning to struggle now with the knowledge that if Sam left she wouldn't be able to bring herself to go through with what she had been mulling over.
